Topic: is not "green card" supposed to be back dated to interview date?
I just received my green card , issued for 2 years starting from" 07/30/2008 , i was expecting it to be back dated to my interview date that is in january'2008!! am i wrong? | |  |  |

Topic: 6 months after AOS interview and no GC
why don't you go on Infopass and talk to an officer? we both interviewed(mine is Houston) in same date, i am waiting for the GC too , except that right after the interview the officer told me "FBI background check is pending". "pending review or pending final decision" are common excuses !! so try to find out if anyone is working on your case, or if any of your security checks are pending!! | | | |

I was on Infopass 2 days back in local Houston USCIS office, the officer told me that they will be working on pending cases for 2 whole weeks in August ( this month) , during this time they will not be conducting any interviews, it can be good news for those who cases be stuck in local office for long time... | | | |

..I had my 2nd interview in April 08 & was nailed with an RFE....still waiting for approval since 2003. I was so sure I would get approved at my 2nd interview.

no particular duration, if you observe folks on this forum it has varied widely from days to weeks,...usually a string of LUDs is a good sign

How long it takes to get the aproval notice once the file is with the adjudicator, i got a letter from USCIS saying that the file is with the adjudicator , i should expect a response in 90 days.

for your FP , you can go even before your appointment date, just call the office and make sure , they do and just walk in , for my FP for EAD i went a week before the appointment date. | | | |
