Could not agree more... the sheer impatience and blindness shown by some on this thread is astonishing. the same questions have been asked several times by different people and have been answered numerous times correspondingly. But people will not do their due diligence and will irresponsibly ask the same question again...which they can easily get an answer to if they would scroll a few pages.
I am sure...by commenting on this...nothing is going to happen and people will still keep on asking these questions.

Anyway...its better to look on the +ve side and celebrate that the H4EAD rule is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Lets just stay positive and work together towards the EAD and the next steps.

Best of Luck everyone.

Just a minor correction... its Indian Republic Day and not Independence Day. Anyway...sending flowers or doing anything in mass that will create a buzz, just like the twitter campaign is something I agree to too.

thats perfect, its also indian independence day and Obama will be in India, i think we should start by sending private messages to people on twitter to gather support for this, also find out some online flower merchandizing places that can deliver to below DC address, which is USCIS DC Office
425 I Street Northwest, Washington, DC

Great Job everyone!

Lets keep up the good work. Let's not let loose on the twitter campaign. Lets get our voices heard even stronger now.

Thanks to everyone...especially Anirban for attending the meeting in person and to all others who asked the relevant questions.

We need to continue our twitter campaign...along with this...lets focus on emailing Leon, Cummings and other relevant people as well.

The idea is to create awareness among people. The best way to do it is through social media. Please keep up with tweeting and retweeting. Lets get this campaign going strong. #H4EAD

I totally agree! very less females have tweeted so far. Apparently, H4 visa is linked to females...but looks like, either they are not interested or are not aware of the twitter campaign. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but all (male & female) should actively participate in this campaign.
Please tweet and retweet as much as possible.

#H4EAD

I hope BO speaks about legal immigration. But, I do not think that he would be speaking about it. For him and the White House, legal immigration does not look like to be an important topic to be discussed. Sony/N. Korea/Cuba/Illegal Immigration would all that will be discussed.

As most of the people following this thread, I am also anxiously waiting for this rule to be passed and the wait time is just adding to the anxiousness. I hope that the rule is published soon.

Agreed 100%. I support your thought and feel the same way. I guess, it would be interesting to see how many people think the same way. I don't think there will be a lot who would share the same opinion. And, I would not blame people to have a different opinion, even I would not like to go back after spending 9 years of my life here. Lets stay hopeful and lets believe that H4EAD will see te light of the day very soon.

I dont think the article is racist. Rather I found it to hit the spot at several important aspects of the H1B abuse. And cows around any building in India in any city is no big deal. I am sure all Indians are aware of this. Xenophobia and taking advantages of the loop holes are 2 completely different things. Anyway...we all are aware of the malicious means that the Indian consulting companies based in US practice, there is no denying that.

I hope the EO contains the anticipated news on H4EAD and more (EB queues made current) for the legal immigrant community. But, at the same time, I sincerely hope the corrupt and fraudulent practices prevalent in the IT consulting sector should be curtailed. We all should shy away from any such company or offer which asks us to get involved in any such act.

This article covers in depth how the H1B visa has been constantly abused by Indian & US companies and especially the Indian Consulting Companies (The Body Shops).

I completely agree with Kamakazee... All of us who are here legally have made a difficult choice at some point or the other in their life and career to be here. We all chose to be living and working here. This choice comes with its pros and cons. The long GC queues and the dependents not able to work is one of them. All of us here feel, the H1s and H4s who have decided to immigrate here legally and have their GCs filed through their employers need H4EAD to be passed. This gives a fair chance to the dependents and will add to the economy of this country in some big or small way.

Going back to the home country for some may make sense, but again, that is a difficult choice. No one should be able to tell us to go back, especially when we have not done anything wrong and are following the rules and regulations of this country. I would respect the choice of the people who think or decide that going back to the home country would be a justified and wise choice. But, I feel differently. We (me and my wife) had made the choice to be here (both through student visas and then eventual employment) and feel that we will not get the same opportunity, respect, standard of life back home. I still feel, that H4EAD is a valid proposal and a fair one and should be passed sooner rather than later.

I believe that at least, the government here, gives us an opportunity to raise our voices and listens to them, though they may take their own sweet time to implement anything to ease the situation. Back home in India, I do not think, it would be an easy task to communicate with the government officials and get them to do something constructive without bribing them.

I would think, its better to stay positive and keep on working towards the H4EAD rule and make our voices heard, rather than picking out negative things about the rules and processes of this country. We all know its not perfect and that's why we are all making an effort to get certain aspects of the immigration process changed. Its better to be united for the H4EAD rule and raise our voices. We all can make conscious choices, once the rule is passed or not passed. Till that time, its better to keep on working for it rather suggesting or making negative comments.

Guys... lets focus on the main issue of this thread. There is no point discussing EB1C abuse here. Lets focus on the H4EAD rule. If needed and if people want to discuss EB1C, please start a new thread for that.

Most importantly, it is important to be united when it comes to discussing about H4EAD. Just like the Latino community have been united when it comes to talking or advocating about the illegals, we need to be united as well, when it comes to talking about H4EAD and legal immigration reforms.

Even though the Latino community is much bigger in size, they have managed to remain united (more or less) for their cause. We need to do the same, irrespective of the mother tongue or your home state in India, expertise (IT or not-IT), experience and your talent and ability.

Lets be united and fight for the right cause, rather than pointing fingers.

I completely agree. We all know, in all likelihood, there will not be any replies. But, its best that we keep on asking the question/status update rather than sitting idle on the issue and not do anything about it. Sitting idle and waiting may very well give an indication that people have forgotten about the rule and it may take forever for an outcome.
Its better to keep up on an aggressive and assertive campaign via social media and if possible face to face interaction with the authorities (dont know how to do it). The idea is definitely to keep the authorities aware and let them know, that we have not forgotten about the rule. The twitter campaign started by the H4visaacurse FB group is one of such means. I think, we all should engage ourselves and if possible encourage friends and family to do the same.
