Topic: 130/I-485 Approval Experience

Hi Seymoe,
Thank you so much for your time here on this form. I am from St. Paul, Minnesota. I have my interview on Sept 25th 2008. I am getting my green card through family based. My mom is lawful permanent residence of US.
I have couple of questions for you as you went to the same interview location as i am going to go.
Does IO give you stamp on your passport? I would like to go back home as soon as i can as i have not been there for last 6 years.
What do you think if i ask IO to give me stamp on my passport so that i can leave this country as soon as i can.
How long does it take to receive a physical green card after interview?
My case is very straight forward and i have not been to out of status.
Please response to my questions. I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.

Topic: help..need urgently advice AP:((((

hi there,
first of all AP form doesn't even ask you to send I-94. If you read under General Requirements you will see. They say I-94 won't be acceptable as a photo identity document. I don't know why did you even send it. I believe you might have to give your I-94 from USA, when you enter into the plane. Let's hope that USCIS might send you I-94 back with your AP. (that is what i believe).
You should have reviewed your application carefully.

yeah i will. i really hope that things will work out for you. i know what you are going through right now. I am also in same boat. I have applied for my AP first week of July, and I would love to go to India in first week of October to celebrate diwali with my parents. I have not been to India since i came to US, you won't believe it, it has been 6 years now. I am dying to go to my back home. I know i have almost 3 months so i am hoping that i would get my AP by that time. please pray for me. that's what i have been telling people. i hope everything works out with you. Just be honest to them and tell them that you were hoping to get AP.

Don't you have hard copy of your wedding card? I mean you got to have something to show them it's your wedding, and you have to be there? You can also show them your air tickets. Ask your relatives back home to fax your wedding and reception cards. They will ask you some kind of strong proof when you go to see Immigration Officer.

I think they will. I would show them reception cards and other things related to your wedding. I read similar post on this website where that person got his AP on basis of proof of wedding.
Just make another Info pass as soon as possible.

Topic: leave without AP?

DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT AP. IA at the POE can see when you left the US and, when the AP was issued to you. So please do not leave, it will just create a big problem for you. You need to have AP when you leave this country.

Topic: Infopass appt for Advance Parole

Hi Blueindia,
I am from Gujarat. I have applied for AOS on family based category. When I came to US i had to V-2 visa but that was expired as i turned 21 and since then i am on non-immigration status. If i go to India which is not a problem but when i want to come back i have to apply for a new visa at mumbai consulate and they might not even give me new visa as my green card application is in process so that's why i couldn't leave this country for last 6 years. My priority date became current last November and i applied for AOS in March 08. I want to go to India in October so i thought there won't be any problems to get it by then but it seems like it takes more than 180 days to receive green card and that's why i applied for AP July 5th. I really want to get AP within 2 and half months so that i can make it to India in October. I have had my Bio metric and medical for my AOS. I wouldn't mind to wait for 2 months but just in case if it's going to take time then i would like to call them to know my status.
Thanks

Hi Blueindia,
I am also waiting for my AP. I have applied it it July so i know i have to wait 60-90 days, and i am really hoping and crossing my fingers that i should receive it within 60 days. I have applied AP because AOS is pending. I have not been to INDIA since i got to US which was in July 2002. :( I just want to know the phone number so that i can get a hold of them in future, if i won't receive my AP withing 60 days. I have tried to call on 1-800-375-5283 to know the status of my AOS, and i couldn't really get any IO on phone. all the information was based on computer. Could you please give me any numbers so that i can directly get a hold Immigration Officer and get to know about my case in future.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in Advance.

Topic: SAMPLE LETTER PLEASE!

hi Defleppard,
I don't think it will create any problem if you write that you need to visit your friends and family and etc, on that separate piece of paper. the reason i am saying it to send because they specifically ask you to write it on separate paper. What if they will ask you to do that again it will just make your application take longer time. i have personally sent that separate letter saying that i have to go back home to visit my family and friends, as i have not been to INDIA for long time. This is just my personal opinion.
