Topic: USCIS and Layoffs

Who will bail out the private company when they have backlogs and have not delivered on promises. I dont advocate larger government but private sector has also let us down
GM
FORD
AIG
CITI
BEAR STEARNS
........................................... and the list goes on.

To make the point in short is that situation is not always black or white there are multiple factors affecting the same.

Topic: AC21 after 180 days of I-140 Approval

Yes you can invoke AC21. Since the new company you plan to join will be willing to sponsor your Green CArd process you can invoke AC21. Green CArd is always for future employment. Current employment status does not matter except for the fact that you should not be illegal for more then 180 days or else bar applies and puts your GC process in jeopardy.

Topic: Need help on A21

Yes you can invoke AC21. Since you i-140 is already approved and its been more then 180 days since you applied for I-485 you can easily switch.

Topic: Finally approved. Online system not working.

Me and my wife both got approved. Our applications were approved on 23rd but found out about it today as we got welcome notice in mail today. I had a scheduled infopass appointment and while I was there my wife called and informed me about the approval notice. I never got approval emails and then when the infopass officer touched my file the online status got updated. So dont always trust the online system

Topic: New POJ method

My Priority date is current and processing time is more then a month beyond current date. I filed for EAD renewal on May 22nd and got the card today. I was hoping they would only extend my EAD for 1 year since everything is current for me but instead they gave me a 2 year EAD. I am little concered now that my case may be processed under wrong category. Please advise.

Topic: my file is (eb2) with an IO for more than 4 weeks now...

Dude,
I am in the same boat. I have seen couple posts where people's cases have been assigned to an officer since March and still no update. Keep your fingers crossed. No one knows the internal workings of USCIS.

I called Nebraska last week and they told me to wait 30 days. Thats what they told me 4 weeks ago. So you will just get a standard answer.

Topic: EB2 India expected approvals in April 2008

Called the USCIS today and got a very nice IO. He told me I am still pending name check and since its been pending name check since more then 6 months, and since the visa numbers become available in April it will be picked up in the sweep. I should hear something about it by end of april.

Topic: Too many ppl calling IO's thus causing delays in everybody's process time...

Very good post. I am in the same boat as you since Feb 2003 and I think we are hurting our cause by creating extra workload. Calling USCIS should not be discouraged but at the same time be realistic in expectations. Dont call everyday. Track your cases and processing information via these tools and when it seems like your case is lagging behind call and verify. Now if a person who has filed labor in 2006/2007 keeps calling everyday then its not helping anyone. So everyone please do the needful.
