Topic: Question regarding the Status change on CRIS email

One of my friend appealed it with AAO for his I140. Today he received a mail saying that

"Current Status: Case received from AAO.

On June 30, 2008, the Administrative Appeals Office returned this case. If your case was remanded or your appeal was sustained, we will notify you of our action within 60 days of the date of the AAO decision. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.".

What does that mean. It is pending more than a year with AAO.

Any idea ?

Thanks

Topic: Please advise me need to tavel using AP for one week

Hello Kansas1

Could you advise what docuemnts I need to carry while tavelling on AP.

Thanks

Passport :-)
I 485 Original
AP both the Originals ( Keep one photocopy too)
EAD if you have one
Latest h1 approval ( Not needed to be on safe side )
EVL ( Employment verification letter from Employer )
Recent Pay stubs
( Bank Statement / Utility - Not needed better to have).

They are more interested only on I485 and AP ( both the original. One they will keep and another they will give it to you).

Topic: Traveling on almost expiring H1B

Better to have your H1/H4 extension, parole is pain, you have to take it every year. BTW, if you need tickets to India, pls call Desi Travels @ 601 291 8760 for good deals.

Thanks,
Sree

Topic: When to apply for green card

Small correction.
#3. You are from Canada. So your duration may be little less ( Because most likely you will not fall under retro category).
( Definitely not 5 yrs )

Topic: When to apply for green card

#1. Not true. You can start the process (for PERM, giving ad , etc ...) the very first day .
#2. I dont think so. Somebody on this will be able to answer for sure.
#3. Just tell him that it is a long process ( 3 to 5 yrs - depends ).

All the best

Topic: salary much higher than prevailing wage

No. The prevailing wage is only the minimum limit. I have seen people earning more than 40k than prevailing wage.
