I got my HSMP visa and Planning to move to UK by this month end. I need your advice on
1. How can I get accomodation which is a bit economical , because I dont have any offer now . I will go and search in UK . The accomodation need to be at a reasonable price
2. what all are the initial settlement tasks after landing in UK

Finally I have applied for EC along with my spouse on 14th July 2008 . Both our passports got stamped for 3 Years on 25th July 2008.

Hi All,
HSMP approval letters are valid for 6 months....
I have few queries :
1.. Suppose if the approval letter is dated 5th Feb 2008 , what would be the expiry date ( 5th Aug 2008 or 4th Aug 2008 or it is valid for 180 days including the date of approval )
2. upto what date we can apply for EC ,, when I enquired at BHC , Chennai , they have informed me that the letter should be valid at the time , they receive the application , not the date we are filing EC at VFS ...
Senior members - Please clarify.

Yes David,
Only joint accounts with spouse are acceptable now in India....you need to transfer the amount into your account and maintain it for 3 months. From which city you are applying . Just check with VFS / BHC at your place for confirming.
