Topic: How long to get gc

It took 6 days in my case (first "welcome" email received on 02/19, "card ordered" - on 02/20, got cards yesterday 02/25/08)

Topic: Finally Received the GC

Hi guys. It seems that our AOS applications have been approved yesterday and I just wanted to share some detail.

1. I am pretty sure my NC is still pending as I took an Infopass a week ago on 2/11/08 and was told that NC was pending (IO was pretty good as she was able to pull the date of NC initiation with FBI and to check the status of FP). So it seems that I485 was approved with NC pending by NSC.

2. I had no soft LUDs since 03/15/07 (1st FP).

3. The status update message was "Notice mailed welcoming the new perm resident" on 02/19/08 followed by "Card production ordered" today.

I wanted to thank you and administrator of this site for your help during the process. I wish you all GOOD LUCK. I am sure your approvals are around the corner.

Topic: Do Soft LUDs Mean Anything?

My guess is these LUDs are related to your recent FPs

Topic: When do 180 days starts?

I would add 2 weeks to notice date (obviously it is the latest of filing received and notices dates). and count 180 days from that date. Again, my experience with Infopass appoinments suggests that even the least sophisticated IOs were able to pull this information from the database.

Topic: When does the name check process start?

Usually within 2 weeks after receipt date. Ask IO at InfoPass appointment, they have an access to that information.

Amit, did you have any LUD changes recently?

Topic: How do I Find out When the Name Check was Started?

Schedule Infopass appointment and ask IO. Usually it is within several weeks from the receipt date (two weeks in my case).
