Topic: Backlog shud be over in 4-5 years no matter what country or EB classification you belong to

Most of the backlog in the current EB system has been caused due to elevated number of H1B visas made available from 1998-2003 or so..sometimes the number hittinng a maximum of 200,000 per year. This was bound to cause a backlog given the fact that the number of EB green cards was always limited to 140,000 per year

But the situation has now changed with the total number of H1Bs available per year being limited to only 65,000.Assuming ALL of those H1Bs decide to apply for green cards and assuming ALL of those H1Bs are first time applicants (not reaplying for a second extension or a seventh year and so forth), that leaves a SURPLUS of about 75,000 Green cards every year

So we have a surplus number of GCs available every year AFTER taking care of YEARLY demand. That surplus has GOT TO GO towards addressing the backlog. Simple math tells you the backlog should be eliminated in 4-5 years no matter what country or which EB category a person belongs to.This is under the assumption that the backlog is about 400,000

Only caveat is that the USCIS utilize EVERY SINGLE gc available EVERY year.

Topic: November EB3 Prediction

Visa bulletin has suggested little to no forward movement for the initial months (till USCIS can give a clear picture). It is cruel to raise hopes with such optimistic looking dates (some people may actually start building castles in the air using these predictions, though they should have been wizened by now).

Smart reply.
But still i say "U"
