I received a letter today from USCIS dated 01/19/2008.


It says as follows:
The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open.

Until the background investigation is complete, we cannot move forward on your case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the background check is complete. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact us by calling our customer service number provided below.

I will apply for Travel Document once again. The last one expired......:) Its alrady been more than a year.

We called the USCIS but it is not helping us out!!!

Will try to go for an infopass. Last time we were there they sid my husband's was stuck on name check and mine was clear, but I am not sure if they know what they are talking about.

Hello Everyone,

I am confused. I and my husband filed our I 485 on december 2006, and his got approved in August 07, but mine is still pending. My H4 visa expires on September 08.

What will happen to my H4, I cannot renew it as my husband is no longer in H1. Any suggestions on what to do next?

I called them to inquire about it but could not get any reply. I have not seen any LUDs except the one after my finger print on 7/31/2007.
