Topic: My HSMP experience in UK...

Hi Friends,
thanks to your support and valueable information provided over here in Trackitt, I successfully landed here in UK.
I was not having much knowledge and took up the first job that came my way and ended up going to a remote town...I please request any members who have landed here or who know any resource for people who come here in HSMP.. what are the forms we need to fill after landing here... Do we need to pay the NI seperately or will our contractor deduct it from our salary? - how are we to pay the tax - will the salary be given after tax deductions? - what forms to fill for NHS? - do we need to take NI on our own? - any other forms to fill, like registering with the nearest embassy of the country of origin? - where to pay the so called council tax? - I am left perplexed here with no friends and I am just staying in a hotel - its costing so high.. - if there is anyone who had gone through this same situation and have got the information, it would be great to put them down here please...
Also, the offer that I accepted and signed states " I agree to work for XYZ for a period of atleast 12 months with a 1 month notice period" - I am not feeling comfortable in this low paying job and the working conditions are also not good, can I quit the company immediately or do I have to give any notice period? - also would the acceptance to work for atleast 12 months and quitting in 2nd month would cause any legal problem? I am getting good job offers with better pay packages from prime locations now... I am just apprehensive about resigning as I have signed the agreement... I request people who have had similar experience or idea on this subject to share your knowledge...

Thanks and regards,
Sanadana

Topic: EC cleared on 21st march - recieved today - now to start the job search.....

@Godbless,
all the best for your EC.

@charu,
for EC, the document list would be all your HSMP documents that came from HO along with your passport and the maintenance fund details like shares, mutual funds, savings account, fixed deposits, etc., signed by respective banks, genuine statements, auditor letter for all the docs.
I dont have job now in India. I need some time to settle there and then start searching job . Lets see what the future holds. I am positive with my future.

@vsherawat,
reg. ur hsmp, now its tier1, yes - you need to wait for 3 more months - try to gather as much information on each and every step like sending it through courier, getting it back from HO, fund maintenance, etc., and never make a step without first searching through forums about case histories - try searching in forums like trackitt and immigration boards and you will have a very clear picture. trackitt is especially useful after you have applied and to know the frequency in which people who have applied in same time period got their visas.
so all the best for you.

@for all your guys who want to contact me.
I am available over my email id sanadana@gmail.com - do drop in a mail.

@Godbless,
hi godbless,
dont worry, your docs are in half way progress, so no need to worry now, what ever be the outcome, be prepared with another explanation letter.
in case your fund maintenance becomes an issue, try explaining in your EC Covering letter that you have sufficient fund in FD and that you have requested to break the FD and that the process is in progress and will update the caseworker as soon as possible and in any case you have sufficient funds to back your stay there in UK.
it should not be a problem - the case worker just needs to be convinced that you have enough funds to back you up.
whatever all the documents that the EC supposes to be presented with, most people might not be in a position to show all of them, one or other, here and there, there would be some missing, but if your case is genuine and you believe you can support your cause, go ahead and explain your state in the EC covering letter clearly and convince the case worker that yours is a genuine case and not a fraudulent one and that if required you can show the evidence.
all the very best for your EC and do update me on your EC status.

thanks and regards,
Sanadana.

Topic: EC cleared on 21st march - recieved today - now to start the job search.....

@vimal007,
hi vimal,
i booked only hotel booking in bookings.com and if you want to know how many days i booked, i booked for 3 weeks.
the amount depends on the peakness of the period and holiday season and the number of saturdays and sundays falling in between. the hotels dont charge, but they do make a transaction for a one day charge to check your card's validity and then when you cancel your booking, that amount is returned back.
all the best.
bye.

thanks and regards,
Sanadana.

Topic: EC cleared on 21st march - recieved today - now to start the job search.....

Hi daystar007,
I dont know whether you mean to say you applied for HSMP and still waiting in airmail or you are applying for Tier1.
In both cases, the following will be a general rule...
in case you applied for HSMP and you are yet to get the HSMP permit, then go in for the transition arrangment document in the HO site.
in case you are going to apply for Tier 1 permit, then use the Tier 1 general Highly skilled worker document in HO site.
In both cases, now you are required to hold a total of 2800 GBP in your savings account for 3 months continously without dip in amount. get your assets certified by an auditor and get all bank statements and book your accomodation and show the letters and statements.
All the best.
do keep me posted of your case.

Thanks and regards,
Sanadana.

Topic: EC cleared on 21st march - recieved today - now to start the job search.....

@sriharibabu,

hoping that your date of debit of fee is 15th may, then you have to wait for 4 weeks in case of HSMP.
but now that the system is Tier 1, I am unaware of the duration it takes.
But any case for all HSMP people, it took 4 weeks of HSMP and then another 4 weeks of EC, so a total of 8 weeks of waiting.. in my case it exactly took 8 weeks for both process to get completed - just as given in their HO site.
so, you can trust the HO site duration if given any... ( maximum i belive you will get your VISA stamped by 2 months and get back the passport in another 1 week from then).
Do let me know when you get the passport stamped.
Wishing you all the best.
bye.

Regards,
Sanadana.
