http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_4310.html

D. EMPLOYMENT THIRD PREFERENCE “OTHER WORKER” VISA AVAILABILITY

Demand for numbers will result in the Employment Third preference Other Worker category reaching the annual FY-2008 numerical limit. As a result, this category will become “unavailable” beginning in August and will remain so for the remainder of FY-2008. Such action will only be temporary, however, and the Employment Third preference Other Worker cut-off date will return to 01JAN03 in October, the first month of the new fiscal year.

I hope this is applicable to all countries :)

Topic: EB3 INDIA PREDITIONS

Too optimistic... EB3 India has progressed only 5 months this year.
Looking at the latest statistics,
http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/A...FITS_May08.pdf

there are 739,934 I-485 applications to adjust status.

As we have 140000 visas for every year, can we assume that it will take about 5 years for heavily retrogressed cases like EB3 India?

This does not include new applications coming in.

Yes. It was a nightmare - had a horrible time last 2 months.

Still I have not resolved the mystery of rejecting my wife's 485 with the reason that mine got rejected. We have never got any denial letter for me and the status still shows pending. Raised a service request 30 days back. Waiting to see what is going on there. I hope it is a mistake from their side. We did appear for finger printing - so that should not be the reason and I do not think of any other reason to deny.

One lesson I learnt: Nothing is guaranteed in this part of the world even if you have approval.
