Topic: Please help! Laid off before I485 approved

What happens if there are layoffs/reduction in force (RIF) and I am impacted?
= You can look out for a job on your own. I guess AC21 is not needed as your employer will not stop you from moving out. My I485 has been pending over 180 days. Do USCIS frown on a gap of employment? Do they not like you being RIFed at all? Are they sympathetic while you try and get a similar role?
= I dont think this should matter. Usual problem of a jump within 180 days is during citizenship. However, if you made the move due to RIF, it is not treated as an issue or problem.

THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING... I CAN BE WRONG ... PLEASE RECHECK WITH A LEGAL PERSON ON THIS. I AM NOT 100% SURE.

Topic: Finger Printing Location?

The address on my Receipt is given as my office address, which is different from my residence.

If I get a FP notice,
1. Will it come to my residence or office address?
2. Will I need to travel to my office address for FP? Are there any other options... reschedule, change in address ... ?

Topic: FP location

I am currently in West Coast. However due to work requirement, I need to be temporarily working from East Coast for about 3 months.

In the meanwhile, if I recieve a FP notice
1. Can I get the FP done from east coast or will I require to travel to my place of residence to get it done?
2. Can I extend or postpone the FP date?

Topic: AC21 EB1C

Hi Indian2007/ThomasB,

I m in a very similar position.
-I-140 approved May 07 under Eb1c.
-485,EAD & AP applied on 15th August 07.

I dont forsee a lay-off, but due to other circumstances I might want to look for opportunities outside my current org ASAP. I dont have answers to your questions, rather adding to it:
- If EAD not approved within 90 days... can we apply for Interim ... and then use AC21?
- The 180 day portability law, talks about option to move into a similar role/title after the 180 days locking period? So do we need to have an approved EAD to do so?

Anyone with answers please?

CONGRATULATIONS

My 485 has been filed on 16th August, under Eb1C. Wonder how long it would take with the current situation. Hope for the best.

Topic: Eb1c + 180-day portability law questions:

Can you shift jobs:
1. In case you receive your Green Card before 180 days from filing?
2. After EAD, but before 180 days from filing?

Topic: Time taken for 485 filing to Green Card in Hand?

Any thoughts on how long it would take in the current situation from 485 to GC in hand.

I am in Eb1c. Does it help any?

Please let me know your thoughts.
