I had to take a leave of absence without pay when i had EAD problems. It is legal to do that when you are in adjustment of status and provided your employer allows that. Please check with your attorney as well just in case. GOOD LUCK |

Hi
Does anyone know if the LUD is supposed to change if a fingerprint notice is issued for a pending I-485?? My fingerprints expired and i got a code 1 fingerprint notice for my pending I-485, but the LUD on my I485 did not change at all?? is this normal?

Sorry to hear about the situation. I was in a similar situation as well. IO stands for information officer. You can try reaching the information officer through the POJ method listed in the forum and explain your situation and that you are in leave of absence without pay. you should stress the financial hardship caused due to no pay. I don't believe local offices have the authority to issue interim EAD's although they can contact the nebraska service center and ask them to expedite it. GOOD LUCK and let me know how it goes. |

Ofra..Check with an attorney... I don't mean to confuse you but as far as i can tell you cannot work with a receipt notice alone.. I went through the pain of taking a leave of absence and staying home after letting my employer know taht my EAD expired.. GOOD LUCK to you and i hope you get your EAD very soon. |

How long has it been since your EAD expired??? If its not months then you can explain it to your employer...take a leave of absence and file for EAD renewal. Once you have the receipt number you can try the POJ menthod to talk to an IO to see if he can expedite your EAD. If they expedite it you should get your EAD soon and not have to wait for 3 months. |

As far as i know the start date will be approval date and not the next date when your current EAD ends. USCIS states that you can renew up to 6 months in advance of current expiration date. |

sometimes you will get the CARD in the mail before the approval notice changes in the web. I got my card in the mail before the message changed from card production ordered to approval notice mailed. You should get it before Jan 12th. |
