I was asked for my state background checks after only sending the FBI clearance. I figured the reason they asked for my state background checks is because the FBI check listed my conviction in different wording than I reported it in the paperwork. They have to be checking into the discrepancy and trying to figure out if I'm lying. i was underage when the whole thing happened a decade ago and it was a small offence.
Any clue as to why my FBI clearance would list a conviction in a different way than all my court documents and my state check?
Do any of you advise me to take it further with my proof that it was an isolated event by getting letters of reference? I had sent proof already that I'm active in the community and have been working and going to school since. any advice? |

They will ask you to send a new medical. You need to land within the one year expiration of the medical results. |
Topic: Ecas updates
That must be devastating to get denied, were the reasons just since the relationship didn't look legit? I get worried about our case because I have a conviction of shoplifting on my record in '98 (i was 17) and had some issues at the border in '05 ( i had no proof i wasn't trying to sneak in and stay). But, I was still granted a 6 month work visa in late '06 and lived with my husband after all that. I'm hoping I'll be ok. My husband and I have had a relationship for almost 10 years.
I think we are ok without CAIPS as of yet, I hear they are practically impossible to read anyway. My case began processing in Buffalo July 3rd 2008, so we are at the 1 month mark with that. Hopefully there aren't too many people taking summer vacations at the center ;) |

I heard somewhere that Ecas is only updated once a week? Is this true, do they wait until Friday at the end of the day to update everyone's info?
I really wonder what amount of staff they have at the Buffalo office and how many files each person reviews at one time. My husband has an aquaintance in the american consulate's office in Toronto and we were told that very often someone will go on vacation and the pile of applications will just sit on their desk until they get back. I think that is what happened to us since a lot of you have had very quick sponsorship approvals and ours took over 2 months. At least that is what we want to think, and not that there were complications.
Has anyone seen someone on the these forums get denied PR? |
