I think you are all set , rest of the things will be taken care by your employer like health protection( and will be deducted from your pay), all you need to think abt is to carry your personal things which you cannot get there or atleast can be useful for the initial few days. hopefully you are onto a project right away and get paid the very first month after you land in this turbelence times.

All the Best.

Hi Jignesh,

I can put it in a very positive way which i always did in the past saying you will defintely get the visa, but the reality is if you satisfy all the requirement like prdoucing all your documents perfectly and whatever other expectations the visa officer has, there is no reason why you will not get a visa. i understand the anxiety in waiting, but siting in india you can only do that. even after getting the visa we all dont have a guarntee that it will be a cake walk in US, the ripple effect is felt across all industries, my company already warned me and asked me to be patient once i land there.

All the best Jignesh

Hi Ram,

Your employer has to send the necessary documents from his side for you to schedule for the visa interview. your H1B expires on sep 2011.

Thanks

Hi Rokaram

what is the deadline date for VISA stamping at the consulate after approval notice sent?

There is no deadline as such, until your petition expires, you can go for stamping provided the employer provides the proof that he still has a job available for you.

Thanks

Hi Jignesh,

yes the process should be smooth as long as you have all the docs requested, and also you dont need any prior appointment, so just walk in once you get the docs from your employer.

Thanks

Hi Leela,

I believe your old DS-156 and DS-157 should do, but however please contact the consulate at the following number to be sure of it, but DS-156 and DS-157 is a must, if you fail to submit it, they might send you another 221(g) :)

Hi Mushy,

Please apply for the change of status in US itself before your travel and for stamping, since your husband is not traveling with you i believe you would require your husbands pay stubs to prove that your husband is maintaining legal status in the U.S. and has sufficient means to support you. You need to have this for at least 2 months before you apply for the H4 visa.

Thanks
