Topic: Applying i-485 - wife is in india

I'd usually apply when I get a chance. In this case at least you can get an EAD and be able to change jobs if necessary. The question is whether you come back on H1 or AP. If you apply now, you might be able to get the EAD/AP combo card and come back on it. If you leave before you get it, then you must go for H1 stamping. Since it takes 90 days you may not get it before first week of Dec if you apply in first week of Oct. End of Dec is more like it.

Not sure what I824 is but it didnt seem like your lawyer preferred it. Some lawyers play it safe but just check with others who may have done I824. If this option works better then you can delay your travel to Jan, apply for both now (using I824 or whatever) and then get the EAD/AP combo for both (ditch the H1/H4 stamping) and both come back on AP, ready to work or change jobs! :)

But taking a chance is also an option as I personally, (my opinion) that the dates wont retrogress to pre-2009.

Good luck in your efforts!

Topic: Greened 03/30/2015

As a fellow trackitt-er, I'm happy for you that you got your GC. Congrats!

Your first post looks/sounds in a way that doesnt reflect your situation which you describe in a later post. So please dont be surprised if someone who waited for a long time 'in a separate line' and had their own struggles groans at a 'Greened Yay!' message by a generic EB1C poster. Having gone through the struggles yourselves and being on trackitt since 2012 you should have a fair idea of the abuse of some of the categories (read EB1C) that led to 'cutting-the-line' by a lot of EB1C'ers over EB2/EB3. Some of the EB1C'ers like yourself may be genuine but a vast majority are just shortcut takers by producing false experience certificates and by using the services of dishonest consultancies.

Anyways, I appreciate your wishes to rest of the community that is waiting. Good luck in your life as well!

Question is what does it get you to go 10 days in advance. If there is some tangible benefit, then just drive up and give it a shot. Otherwise just wait.

At least you can do that. So it something to get the file picked up.

Once the Processing dates are past one's RD date. one can raise a Service Request. Cant wait to see their April update now.

So looks like they have not gotten to June 30th yet. That is disappointing to learn.

Any others whose applications have been touched? (June/July/August?)

Topic: TSC processing time

Does anybody know what dates the TSC is currently processing nowadays. We'll know this if someone calls into the USCIS customer service number and asks for it. I called today but got cut 'due to excessive volume' and was asked to callback later. Did anybody call in recently?

I know as of Dec 31st, they were doing applications filed on June 6th 2014. Was wondering about the latest.

thanks!

Dude, wait a sec. Dont revoke yet. Is it possible that when your date was current a few months ago, they assigned a visa number to you. Then it retrogressed but you already had a visa number and eventually an approval?

It is not uncommon to get an approval when dates are not current especially in a retrogessed situation. Meaning you could have been assigned a visa number when the dates were current. Anyways let us know what happened at your InfoPass.

Ouch! I'm sure you already cancelled your credit/debit cards. DL you can replace quickly. Cell phone, remote wipe if you can. Gift cards, well somebody gifted themselves, sorry. Now flash drives, that is a serious thing depending on whether you password protected it or not. EAD card is also replaceable but takes time. May be USCIS will expedite it for theft cases. Find out. Also follow up with Police regarding the theft. Get a copy from them to submit to USCIS if necessary.

Bad luck strikes everybody inevitably. How you handle it makes the difference. So just stop worrying and get on fixing it as fast as you can. Godspeed to you! Hope you kept copies of everything.

Topic: Immigration Innovation Act 2015 in Senate

Basically, the bills are passed relatively quickly if both the parties benefit from it and the President looks good signing it. Just see the time it took for them to pass a bill that for example say honors the military. Few hours, nobody questions whether the bill was read in its entirety.

Now I-squared bill really addresses what most of us (MS/PhD here) would consider as the best possible bill. It is being sponsored by bi-partisan although it depends on how powerful the legislators are in their respective parties.

To answer our question, I'd say (guess) at least 6 months to 18 months timeline, if it comes up for a vote. Else it will expire in 2016. But stranger things have happened.

I think the processing date they publish (it is May 18th 2014 as of now) is correct.

Sometimes when you see later filed applications being approved (like in Sep/Nov), I've noticed that they are concurrently filed ones and PD is current. So that may be making a difference.

However the May 18th date is as of Nov 30th. Since they may have processed a lot more since then (its been almost two months) so it is possible that they might be processing applications filed in late July. Keep fingers crossed. Good luck.
