Topic: Why migrate to Canada, when you are already working at US

I find in this forum many people who are working in US are migrating to Canada. What are the reasons, if you would like to share. If you work in US, you will get green card etc. after some years. Then why Canada. Thanks in advance.

Topic: Landing question

After landing any other formalities to be carried out for the PR process.

If planning to return within a week, is it OK, or do I need to stay for some minimum days after the first landing.
Do I need to apply for driving licenese
or take a health insurance etc.

Any advise or information is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Topic: Study visa application, while PR application is in progress

Yes, I know two such cases, from Kuwait, visa office - Abu Dhabi, 2 students last year were granted study permit. Their parents PR application is in progress. One had to undergo a medical test at Kuwait, other was not requested a medical test at all. Does not seem to be a unifrom decision by the visa office. It seems to be dependant on the officer who is processing the application. Thanks for your respose, and any more information in this regard is highly appreciated. Thanks in advacne.

Topic: After passport requrest is received, howmuch time for visa stamping?

I think once anybody gets a passport request, it is a matter of one day for visa stamping if he/she decides to go to the concerned office personally for visa stamping. Am I correct. Any information on this is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Topic: Can an offer of admission in a University expedite the PR process?

Thanks for your reply. Further in this regard, is there any harm if I request them to process faster as my son has an offer of admission in a Canadian University. Do you think my PR process may get delayed by such request. If there is no harm then I think I can put forward my request and see, if it expedites, it is OK. What do you think. Any suggestions in this regard are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Topic: Background checks, Is done after IA or after Medical tests

I hear on the discussion form about background checks. Any idea if these are done after the IA or after the medicals are done. Can one know if that is the reason why his/ her application for PR is delayed. Any information on this is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Topic: Can the IA be delayed if the applicant is a member of a professional organization.

Thanks for your reply, but these are professioanl organizations. Unfortunately in the form, for professional and political organizations, same section is given. For political organizations, yes there should be a background check, but for professional organizations which are concerened with advancement of technical knowledge and best practices of the profession, background checks are not required. Hence I think, it was not a good idea to mention these organizations in my form. Now they may follow the same procedure as for political organizations. Anyway, I hope that does not happen to me and I only pray it to come fast. Thanks. Any more suggestions, comments are highly appreciated.
