Topic: Formalities after getting the Green Card

Thanks I am going to check the mortgage angle post GC approval, for NY, and see what I can find. Meanwhile, if anyone has any further insight / link, please share. Thanks.

Topic: Formalities after getting the Green Card

I would prefer to handover the I-94 card back to close that process properly and recorded in some system.

1 - New SSN to get rid of pesky legend "requires INS authorization..."
2 - SSN for wife
3 - Drivers license for wife without pesky legend "temporary for one yr or until H1 validity...", etc.)
4 - Update I-9 form with employer
5 - Someone here said let your mortgage company know about GC if you own a home, not sure why?
6 - ... what else?

I think its best we do, cause that will close the I-94 story/process properly, and then onto the new GC process, and then onto the citizenship process with US passport. Hopefully it stops there :)

Topic: MASSIVE POSTAL MAIL PEACEFUL PROTEST TO USCIS ON OUR PLIGHT AND THE BROKEN SYSTEM

mma0604 - well said! I would include Lou Dobbs, Spin stops here dude and prominent tv personalities who like to takeup key issues... but needling the foot soldiers will just slow and demoralize the entire system. Remember that there are always some good people who are and must be doing their job right at uscis. BTW, I am not saying this just cause mine got approved.

Topic: Happiest moment!!!!!!!!!

Congrats dude, really happy to see the approvals continuing in Dec... my take is whoever was current prior to the July fiasco (or boon) should be close to getting approved. In my case, I have got twice the "Card Production Ordered" LUD and email so far, waiting for approval notice and cards.
