Topic: Working on H1B status while having Green Card in hand.
If I will sum up;
- After getting GC, we will be no more on H1, it will automatically transfered to LPR in USCIS records but we need to tell employer so that he can update I-9 Form (for taxation purpose).
Am I right? Anything else?
Right. 485 is your pettition, hence its your responsiblity to advise your employer. Employer would not know that you already have a GC unless your lawyer is the employers lawyer as well.
I would avoid problems, and let the employer know. I do not know of any significant benefit on remaining in H1B because its non exhistant once you get GC. |

Well, I am waiting for GC since last 4 years (with EB3 category). Its really frustrating after seeing January bulletin, looks like dates arent moving an inch at all. I see my wait time is for another 10 years. Gurus any theories? Is there a hope?
I understand, but Look at me, I have been waiting for I140 approval, and for my date to be current from 2001. How should I feel? I take one day at a time. |

i also suggest you to travel to the interview, do not mess it up. do not delay, who knows what happens when you change venue.
I would advise the same. What's a few $'s, if it will prevent a major mixup. |

I'm not so optimistic and I think ROW won't be moving one year. Six months at most (both India and ROW).
If it moves 4 months and 1 day I'm IN :)
Anyway, USCIS is unpredictable.

Got RFE notice yesteday. They were asking for the Original Labor Certification, which ofcourse is attached to my other I140 under appeal. So Lawyer is requesting USCIS to request DOL for an original. Hopefully will get approved soon. |

Guys, Goodnews or bad, They issued an RFE today on my 2nd I140. Hopefully its something simple. Will keep you posted as soon as I get details in a day or two. |
