Topic: Travel with AP

Please discuss with your attorney, If you depart without AP or valid H1/L/F visas, your AOS will be consider abandoned.

You need your AP approved before leaving the country.

Topic: New SSN - stimulus package

Babuda,

If you are filing jointly, then both (here your case all three) should have SSN # (even though sounds strange but is fact)

See below from FAQ on IRS -

In most cases, the law does not allow stimulus payments for people who file a return using an ITIN. A taxpayer generally needs a valid Social Security number to qualify for the stimulus payment. If married filing jointly, both taxpayers must have a valid Social Security number — the only exception is a joint return on which either spouse is a member of the armed forces. Children must have valid Social Security numbers to be eligible as qualifying children.

Topic: New SSN - stimulus package

Same here, I had used taxact.com to file 2007 returns.

Please share if you find any info.

From IRS FAQ's - The 2008 tax instructions will include a worksheet to help those who did not qualify for a payment or those who received a reduced amount determine if they can obtain a benefit when they file their 2008 tax returns next year

Topic: Travelling using BA to India with stopover in LHR

Did any one tried, pls share your experience.

My H1 expired but continuing to work with same employer, Planning to go to India and use AP while coming back. I'm booking tickets in BA, via LHR

Will there be any problem if I use AP ?
Do they accept AP OR do they need a valid VISA ?
For any problem what supporting documents is suggested ?

Thanks,

Topic: New SSN - stimulus package

Recently got EAD approved and received SSN # (in Oct '08).
When we filed tax returns in April 08, primary had SSN and dependent had ITIN so was not eligible for Economic stimulus package - (ESP 07).

Is 2007 ESP still valid or should we need to append our filings or wait until 09 ?

Thanks for the information & appreciate your time.
