Topic: Goodbye and thank you...
I have decided to leave trackitt. I know this isn't important in the grand scheme of things, but forgive me if I give my final thoughts before I head off.
When I first joined this place sometime around June last year, these threads were overwhelmingly focused on facts, information and mostly respectful discourse.
I finally received my green card about 2 months ago and I want to say thanks to all those that helped me with questions and discussions leading to my approval. I stayed on in the hope that some people might benefit from my experience where I might highlight a fact or two.
However, unfortunately, the infantile and flame-filled tone of many of the threads (see "very few approvals today" as an example) are increasing along with frustrations. This has convinced me that it is indeed finally time to move on.
It just seems harder and harder these days to find threads that don't degrade at some point into disrespectful name-calling, "my country is better than your country" stupidity, or which haven't be tagged by deliberate agitators. It has actually turned visiting here from an informative and thought provoking experience into a tiring and unpleasant one. Perhaps the usual agitiators will tag this one with such gems as "good riddance" and "who cares". Well I care.
I really do hope this place can someday be what it once was. An wonderfully informative and beneficial place on the web for new immigrants.
I sincerely wish all of you good luck. I wish you all speedy green cards regardless of age, sex, race or country of birth. May your journeys be as short as possible!
Also my final thanks to the creators of trackitt. The database has been invaluable. Thanks!
And with that, I bid you all farewell! |
Topic: very few approvals today
The name calling doesn't end. |
Topic: I 140, what's it worth?
TO make a long story short, and to answer what I believe was your main question...
No. I140s are not transferrable from one Company to another (unless the companies are somehow related - ie, a take-over, etc.)
You must file a new Labor and I140 with a new employer.
However, the good news is, if your old 140 was approved, you are the owner of your priority date and can port that to any new applications that you start. If it wasn't approved, you must start from scratch. |
Topic: GURUS PLEASE HELP!!!!!
What amazes is me is that based one what I see here, you didn't have these materials (masters degree certificate and/or transcripts and prior employment references) already available as part of your original submission.
What the heck was your lawyer thinking?
GOOD DOCUMENTATION IS EVERYTHING. |
Topic: Experience while graduation (I-140)
I used work experience gained during full-time working semesters of a co-op program of a diploma. But again, this was FULL TIME work taken in dedicated 4 month chunks. I highly doubt part time work would be given full time credit. My I140 was approved. |
Topic: How to know PD if we do not have labor copy???
Can the employer cancel the I140 even if I continue to work for the same company? Its more than 180 days my 485 is filed.
Employer can revoke it at any time. Revoking it simply means they no longer sponsor you.
However, if your 140 is approved, and after 180 days you find another employer willing to sponsor you in a same or similar position that commences when you are awarded your GC, then you may use AC21 to prevent the 140's revocation from terminating your 485.
I don't think you need your 140 for this. The 140 is already tied to your 485 so they have the information. Just make sure you notify USCIS properly of AC21 invocation to avoid complications. This will most importantly include a (possibly notarized) offer of employment, with job description from the new sponsor. |
Topic: Can working two full time jobs since begining of EAD affect denying I-485 ???
yes it won,t effect as long as you work for your sponsoring employer too.
Not quite. There is no requirement to work for the sponsor before the GC is approved. Only AFTER (unless invoking AC21). |
Topic: very few approvals today
I am willing to give my visa number to someone else to make this world more PEACEFUL. we already have enough stress in real life, so we better make our life better by supporting each other rather than fighting. No one has control over ones complexion or country of birth. No one can choose its parents and every child thinks that his parents are the best in the world. I think people around here are acting like small kids saying my father(country) is the best , my father(country) is the best....
We are mature people and should have respect for each other.
I'm with you there my friend! |
Topic: very few approvals today
Once again a topic of valid respectful discussion gets taken over by mudslingers.
Every time I see it I am greatly disappointed. |
Topic: Can we continue to work if the EAD expires?
I think you'll be fine if you apply with 2.5 months remaining. The renewal should arrive on time to avoid a gap. |
