Topic: Letter to DOL, Editors, etc

hi guys

I have not applied for PERM myself but I have been watching the Atlanta forum for a while.. I feel for you guys... I compiled a slightly better email. I think you should use this one.. Most of the content is the same as the previous one, except that it's more polished (I hope so). I'll post this in a new thread as well.. might get lost in this huge thread.

================================================================================

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

This is regarding the labor certification process at the Atlanta PERM Processing Center. PERM is supposed to be a fast-track labor certification process, but most applications older than 90 days and are still pending without being processed.

The Department of Labor (DOL) handles PERM applications, and it's clear that they are not processing applications in a timely manner.

Atlanta applicants are currently tracking their cases on a forum and they have found huge discrepancies in the processing times for Chicago and Atlanta processing centers. Below are the average processing times for the two processing centers:

Chicago vs. Atlanta
----------------------------
Chicago: Average 12.7 days for 111 cases since March 2007
Atlanta: Average 103.2 days for 66 cases since March 2007

Tracking forum for Chicago PERM Tracker: http://www.trackitt.com/usa-immigration-trackers/chicago-perm-tracker/

Above analysis based on a sample of cases filed at the Chicago and Atlanta centers, obtained from a forum called trackitt.com (http://www.trackitt.com).

The difference in processing times for Chicago and Atlanta processing centers is unfair, and it goes against the very fabric of American values. In America, we believe in fair and equal opportunities to all individuals. Then why are these delays not being addressed? This delay in processing at the Atlanta center is affecting the lives of thousands of legal, tax-paying, productive members of the society because their careers are stalled as they wait for their labor approvals.

There is a great window of opportunity available for all of us to file for our green cards (I-140 and I-485 applications) until 17 August 2007, but we are unable to do so because we need our PERM applications to be approved before we can file I-140 and I-485.

We request you to resolve this delay with Atlanta PERM processing center ASAP.

Best Regards and thanks for reading,
From all of us Atlanta PERM applicants
