Topic: H1 amendment or LCA

Glad you were able to receive a response from your employer.

I did not use AVR; I actually used the opportunity to visit the US consulate in Canada and request a visa.

P.S.: Do you know if this forum has a private message facility?

You are absolutely correct!

I had sent a query to my employer attorney and the team just responded saying "no change to LCA or H1-B is needed but the LCA will be reposted in the new worksite compliance file". I believe the posting will be taken care of by the employer. We do not have to worry about it; just inform them that they need to do the posting. Therefore, no further action for amendment on our case.

I wanted to share the update with you....hope this helps! I believe we are all set for travel now.

P.S: Enjoy Canada; I love the country. Not sure which city you are landing but I have been to montreal, Toronto and Ottawa . Ottawa is similar to DC but Toronto and montreal are wonderful!

actually, you may and will be questioned at the port of entry and job location/employer address is a very basic one. when I went for my landing, I took the opportunity to apply for a visa there.

hello gcjuly,

I just re-read your post after checking the USCIS website on the new rule.

I was not even aware of the rule! I have the exact same scenario and I travelling on Wednesday ( may need to post pone my trip). I believe as per the rule, we need to have our employer post a new LCA ( I don't think H1b amendment is needed). Once the new LCA is updated, we should receive a copy.

Not sure how long this process for LCA update takes. The rule says by JAn 15 we need to file the update. Therefore, we have time.

Are you moving now> or the move to Canada is later?
if you are just doing landing and returning in 30 days you won't be questioned, just the petition docs and passport is needed

Are you planning to travel out of country soon? I would suggest just let your employer know about the location. Same msa should not need an amendment but let your employer make this call.
Not sure what you mean by Jan 15 deadline

Topic: PRoject change, should we update H1-B petition?

I am going for my first out of country travel after my (first) H1-B petition was applied and approved. I work for an direct employer (we are the client). I am travelling to my home country/India.

Do I need to update my I-129 or H1-b petition , I had the following two scenarios:
1. My employer moved addresses/the complete organization moved about a mile from where we were. Same city
2. I changed my team, same role/daily job duties(different position # but my petition had a generic job title and job duties that is used throughout the organization i.e. systems analyst) for the most part; just a different program

Topic: UK Visitor visa question

I am applying for a short term tourism visa to the UK. I'm in the US. I will be transiting through the UK and would like to stop for 4-5 days. I have completed my application and I have the following two questions:

-How can I pay the priority processing fee? The website points me to a servive but there is no option to pay anything
-my brother lives there in the UK and i will be staying with him for the time in the UK but he is NOT sponsoring me. Do i still need to send his bank statements/financial documents with my application?

Hope someone can help here..
