wojciechk, the health record check trick is quite interesting. I have to keep that in mind when my PD becomes current. Thanks for sharing.

Topic: How safe is the cash in your Bank ????

Since FDIC doesn’t publish the FDIC watchlist (because it would induce further panic), you can get safety ratings from bankrate.com and veribanc.com (the last one costs $30+ but is the best safety gauge imho).

Also, here's an independent blog that tracks banks at risk:

Btw, I wouldn't keep in my money in Wachovia...

Topic: will someone tell me what POJ means ?

ROW = Rest of the World
EB2 = Someone who applied for 485 or Adjust Of Status (AOS) has a master's degree or 5yr+ experience in his/her relevant professional field.

These stuff came from the Visa Bulletin (VB) which is released every month:
http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html

Select Current Bulletin, scroll down to the 2nd table and you can see that number of employment visas available for the Immigration Officer (IO) to user are divided under different categories: first column-wise by country (All areas of charegablity or ROW, India, China, Mexico, Phillipines) and then row-wise by level of expertise (EB1, EB2, EB3, EB4, EB5). If you scroll up a little you will see the explanation for these EB categories under the title "Employment Based Preferences". Basically
EB1 = pHDs, Nobel prize type or highly accomplished scientists, CEOs, etc.
EB2 = as explained before Master's Degree
EB3 = Bachelor's Degree
EB4 = Religious Workers
EB5 = "Million dollar Green Cards" (if you invest $1M (sometimes $500k) in a business in a specially designated area and employ 10 americans or Green card holders)

.....So: EB2-ROW means someone who basically has a master's degee or 5 years of experience and who is not from India, China, Phillipines or Mexico. So based on what I see in your profile, you will be EB1-India.

capicshe?

Topic: Why can't I get a "good" IO like you all ?

sometimes it depends on what time and day you call using POJ. Early Tuesday morning may be a good time to try. The hold time is less and whoever answering the phone is not as cranky as he/she would be at the end of a workday.

But I have to agree with the others here. Regardless of courtesy level of the IO on the phone, they are all morons.

Topic: No updates after I485 Approval Notice

as long as you guys have approval notice and CPO emails. things are good, there will be no LUDs on your cases from now on. the only thing you should be worried about is the receipt of the approval notice and card by mail. checking lud online is what payguy calles luditis. cure it by restraint.

nice. btw another cure is to use the google gadget which helps u track LUDs so that you don't have to everyday.

Topic: What is the difference between CSR & IO ???

what Goblin said + an IO is less dumber than a CSR but both can screw you.
