Topic: Custom Check for International Flight

I've flown back and forth to US via multiple airports and here's the process.

You always have to pick up your luggage after immigration control. You then go through customs and if you have a connecting flight, there's a belt where you leave your luggage to be taken to your next flight.

You don't have to "check" your luggage again with an agent or anything like that. The tag on it will have your final destination. You just need to pick up your luggage at the port of entry so you can go through customs.

Topic: Frustruation.. - RFE

I would sit tight and wait for the green card to be approved. Keep calling the lawyer and push them to submit the RFE response. Not worth changing jobs so close to approval and risk everything.

My two cents...

Topic: Case processing resumed...how long does that take?

unreasonable: what was your RFE about?

they asked for a birth certificate from country of birth (i had sent one from country of citizenship). my profile has some comments with a thread with all the details.

Topic: Case processing resumed...how long does that take?

In my case, we sent the RFE response on June 30 (overnighted it) and July 1 I got a hard LUD saying case resumed. I got the welcoming and card production on July 17.

However, I would say that they are very incosistent on updating their online system so I wouldn't put too much into it. (my Advance Parole still shows as pending even though I received it back in oct 07 or something like that).

Topic: MrVulcan or other Swedish citizens - can you help?

See! As soon as they got the papers from the Swedish government showing you are a true Swede all worked fast! Congratulations!

yep -- they were not going to allow a Greek in but as soon as they saw the Swedish connection, the doors became wide open! :)

BTW, does Sweden allow dual citizenship with the US or not?

Topic: Withdraw I485 -- Can i do it?

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked with my lawyer and YES i have an option to withdraw the I485.

My PD is current and my I485 Received date is Aug 7, 2007.

Option 1:
As per my calculations i see that it will take some time for my USCIS to reach my Application. Because during last july there are too many applications which were filed during that time.
So it is from July 17, 2007 to Aug 7, 2007. I think it will take atleast two months to work on my case. So take a chance and get married in Aug Or Sept 2008.

Option 2:
Withdraw 485 and re apply after i get married. If i use this option i will be at the end of the Queue and it will take 3-4 yrs to get my GC.

Gurus please provide any input on these options.

Option 1 is kind of risky -- you never know, your case could get approved since your PD is current. They are working on Aug cases as well. My RD is similar so if yours get approved, I would be more than happy to have your approval and you can keep waiting. :)
