Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

desiAmigo,

Thanks. Yes, I am familiar with that. I remember satish, kamak, and others discussion pushing PP for H4 EAD. I am wondering if we got any response from USCIS on it during the conf call. I think it will be very useful thing to have. What you all think?

Thanks,

Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

Hey guys,

is there any progress on H4 EAD premium processing? Basically the problem we have in the system right now where if you apply for H4 and EAD together, EAD will be processed only after H4 approval. Which means that there will be a 90 day wait period. I remember some of the folks here in the forum had a conversation regarding this. Any update on this matter would be nice.

Thanks,

Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

TO: AmericanMS

Ok, first of all, I am thankful to US for providing all the opportunities. Second, I would like to request to internationals to bring good to this land, mix with other native and non-native americans, and try to help other races as much as possible. Ok now thats said, lets discuss the topic here.

Giving EAD does not mean giving JOB. I think that should be as clear as it can be. If protecting american job means that you will prevent a small fraction of people to even apply for a job, then you have to think hard on how people from the poorest part of the world are competing against the folks here who went to very good schools and colleges. If anything, the reasonable solution should be:

1. Improve the education here in USA. Teach kids and parents here to invest time in education and not watching TV and drinking coke and pepsi (and that's true for any nation)
2. Educate young generation what is important in their life.

Just by blocking a small group of well educated, hard working people will not do any good to America. You want to create more jobs? Then free the most talented, practical oriented engineers and professionals from the shackles of the H1B and H4 and see what happens.

Now said that, I am not a strong supporter of hiring cheap labor from other countries. That to me is a separate issue. Let's not mix the issues here. The issue is that once you are here in this country then every adult should be able to earn bread for him/her and children. That's just humanity and common sense.

By the way, next time you use any instruments, software, life supporting devices, you should remember that behind everyone of these, there is an international worker's hard work somewhere in there.

Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

This is the time. I have posted my comments.

----------------------------------------------

Dear Madam/Sir,

Regarding: RIN 1615-AB92

While most other employment visas such as L, E, and TN allow spouses to obtain a work authorization, the H1 does not allow their dependents (H4 Visa holders) to obtain a work permit or even a social security number. The problem is amplified on the fact that H1B holders from India and China who file for a permanent residence have to presently wait between 10 years to 70 to obtain a permanent residence. This implies that people are now staying on H4 sometimes for 10 years.

There are many reasons why the government should grant the H4 Visa holders a work permit but the main reason is that it is a matter of justice to grant the work permit to those who are waiting indefinitely for a permanent residence. Moreover, it will make economic sense to allow the spouses to work. These talents are already inside the United States and we might as well make them contribute to the US economy. We are not only wasting the talents but creating a depressed and disappointed community.

I would say the “right” for a work permit is not only the fair thing to do but it should be granted as a matter of women rights and human rights. As such I support this rule and would recommend others to do the same.

Thank you for considering this comment.

Folks,

I have commented as well (text below).

Dear Madam/Sir,

Please pass this rule (http://www.reginfo.gov/public/do/eAgendaViewRul...). I will ultimately benefit USA. Also, it will help law abiding spouses to be independent and capable of contributing to the community.

Many thanks.
