Topic: my son has a greencard already , but got this strange email from BCIS, any advice???

I was principal on my green card application, and my wife and son were dependants.
My wife and I received our plastic cards on NOV 2007, and our son, he is 8, received his on DEC.

But we got this strange email from BCIS. His current greencard does not have any mistakes nor we had filed anything with BCIS since he got his card. What this following email could mean then?>??

Topic: Is Biometrics for Kids a Good Sign?

Hello,

in my case, the Biometric for our kid was a good sign.

Here how it worked for us. My wife and I got the Biometric Appointment in Apr 2007. USCIS approved greencards for me, wife and son (kid) in NOv 2007. But, USCIS sent the Biometics appointment for my son only after his greencard approval. So, in DEC 2007 we got our kid fingerprinted. Then in late DEC 2007 he got his green card too.

Topic: A question about the AP and GC

Once you have your greencard, you do not need your AP. Use GC on arrival.
fill out I-94W ( the green form, not white I-94) on arrival into US. Your passport, Greencard, and I-94W shall be presented to the immigration officer at the US Citizens line.

Sorry.. I meant FP notices, not AP notices in my above message.

Topic: no fp notice yet long time waiting

AP appointment notices are sent based on how busy your area ASC center. It is like you are waiting in traffic on a busy highway. Wait, and your turn will come. Beleive me, they will send you an appointment notice sooner or later, since this is the major step in the case. It is just a wait thing. I know it is hard to wait.

Topic: To surrender 94 or not

Yes, you have to surrender your current I-94 form whenever you depart USA, even for overnight.

I-94 is arrival-DEPARTURE form which needs to be surrendered at the port of exit ( Airport, Sea, Border). Well, I am not a lawyer but ... that what I would do. Surrendering I-94 departure piece does not affect your status under consideration. You will fill out New I-94 on your return from Canada into US.
Even if you use your AP and H!B visa on return, you will fill out new I-94.

Topic: Current Status: Card production ordered.

This means that you will get your GC in about 1 week from your LUD ( card ordered).
Be attentive in your mailbox, since GC comes in a white-non-marked envelope.. like a junk mail....

The envelope comes with WELCOME pamplet, GreenCard (I-551), and a little envelope where you can keep your GC.

CONGRATS!!!

Topic: Processing times

Guys, let us be realistic. Processing times do not mean anything. The sole purpose for "Processing times" on the USCIS site to show the general statistics, and show that USCIS doing their job. it is like a poll on a survey. The 'sample" of case on the processing time table is very big. Do not get caught and locked into processing time table. Go by your own data: such as your category, country of origin, nature of your case, etc.

Thanks

Topic: STrange LUD on my Approved H1 in 2005

Any LUD on "past" and "approved" cases does not mean a Bad thing. That means if you are in whatever current process and see the LUD on your past cases.. this means INS went back into your record to see, review and confirm some things. Once the officer touches your case it automatically generates LUD in the system. So, review in your H1 from 2005 could be someting they are considering in the review for your current case.
