Topic: Infopass for GC stamp

They will be able to look at the computer system to verify approval, so email printouts should not be necessary (but can't hurt) if you have them.

In my case, they stamped my passport only for 30 days, as the lady said that the card should be mailed to me soon. Your case might be different. Good luck and congrats on your approvals.

Topic: Why is Tax return important when filing I-485 ?

I didn't have to submit any tax forms with I-485 FYI.

Not sure if my Co. sent in any W2 copies? They might have.

Vptracker:
They did not touch any other cases, only the first H1B case which is back from Nov 2000.

Same here, no LUDS on any of my cases except my old H1B.

I also had a LUD on my old H1B. I think it might indicate that they are adjudicating the 485 form. Verifying old H1b detials etc.

Topic: Card not received

I waited for 3 weeks and then went for the infopass and called NSC.

What got me suspicious was that I only received the "Welcome" email from CRIS but not the CPO email or Approval notice email.

Based on most of the feedback on trackitt, usually all 3 emails seem to happen within a few days. This didnt happen for me so I followed up and prompted USCIS to look into why no CPO or approval emails.

Why wait, I would follow up now, the worst they will tell you is to wait the 3 weeks, or as in my case, we will respond in 30 days. As it turned out, I called on a thursday and got the CPO email the following Monday. ymmv. Good luck

Topic: Card not received

Go for an infopass and request a I-551 temporary stamp in your passport. I was in the same situation and had to call NSC (POJ) and that prompted them to CPO. It worked for me but I had to follow up with infopass and POJ.

I think otherwise I might not ever have gotten the actual card. Good luck.

Topic: Is there an actual "Approval Notice"?

If you look carefully on the card to which your card was attachd it too is an I-797. I suspect this is the approval notice because I never got an approval notice sent when I got my card some time ago.

Actually, approval notice is sent separately. It starts with "Welcome to USA" etc.

I actually got a "Welcome Notice" first, then CPO email, then another email saying "Approval notice" sent. It's all very confusing!!!!

I don't think I am going to worry about getting an actual approval notice, as I have the card and the welcome notice, so that should be adequate.

Topic: Is there an actual "Approval Notice"?

ok, thanks, your right.

Looking closer at the paper the card was attached too, it says "Form I-797D(Rev.9-30-04)" and underneath it says "Your application has been approved. Here is your new card blah blah"

So I guess this is it and no more mail from USCIS.

Now for the 5 year wait to begin! Shame we can't apply the time waiting for the GC towards the time you have to wait until
one can apply for citizenship!

Thanks again. :o)

Topic: Is there an actual "Approval Notice"?

I received a "Welcome Notice" (I-797), then received the card, but is there an "approval notice" also? I had an email saying approval notice sent, but have yet to receive anything.

Is it another I-797 (NOA) saying approval? Any ideas?

Thanks
