Topic: All Interview Experiences Posted Here...

Today (1/22) we had our appointment in the afternoon in Fairfax, VA. The building was a little hard to find and there only appears to be one parking lot behind the building. Once inside you go through airport-type security (remember to leave tweezers and such at home) and then you go up to the 2nd floor waiting room. You hand your letter to the front desk clerk, who keeps it, and then your name is called. We were lucky and got a lovely female interviewer.

We did not get asked any questions about information that was not written on our I-130 and I-485. Note though that we had already sent in A LOT of supporting information: pictures, bank statements, credit card, apartment lease, car insurance, etc. The IO did look at both driver's licenses, both passports, I-94, original marriage certificate, and non-citizen's birth affidavit and non-availability document (there is no birth cert). Immediately after we took the oath and sat down, the first thing the IO told us that we had already submitted enough documents with our application and she has no reason to believe that the marriage was a fraud. Hence she approved the I-130, but told us that she can't approve the I-485 because our I-693 (medical report) was incompletely filled by the doctor. She said that the doctor had forgotten to check a box on the form and he will need to do so and then sign and put his initials on the form and seal it and we should return it back. So the interviewer issued an RFE - Request for Evidence so that the doctor can complete the form. We have about a month to get the complete form to USCIS. But she repeatedly assured us that stuff like this happens and she has no reason to deny this application. As soon as we receive the I-693 completely filled by the doctor, she will approve the 485.

We'll let you know what happens... wish us luck!!!!

Topic: June/July/Aug 2008 (I-130/I-485) Filers come sit around the fire and share....

I have almost the same timeline as yours. I can also still not check the status of I-485 and I-130 and I get the same error as you are getting. In fact in my case I could not even get the I-765 status until the date it was actually approved! I have called USCIS several times and they just don't give a damn. According to them, there is nothing that can be done about it but the case is progressing normally.

Topic: Where to track concurrent filed family bassed applications

I filed my application on July 23 and received the NOA a couple days later. My receipt numbers still don't work on the website. I have called USCIS several times and each time they give different answers. The only thing I can conclude is that there is no guarantee that it will ever appear online. But you can certainly call them and find out the status.

Topic: USCIS website not showing status

Does anybody know what is the timeframe for a submitted application to appear on the USCIS website? I had filed I-130, I-485 and I-765 on July 24th, got receipt on July 28th, completed fingerprinting on August 20th. When I put my receipt numbers on the USCIS website it says:

Case Status Retrieval Failed
This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

I have called up the customer service and they say that it may or may not appear ever. I am not sure if others also have this problems. Anybody with similar experience, please share.
