Topic: Tier 1 Visa and Same Sex Dependant

Hi
The same rules as unmarried partner applies to u. U will need to submit three proofs that u and ur partener are staying together for last two years.
You already have one. Now u need two more. one is the mortgage paper which is also a very good proof. For the last proof u need any utility bills which u have in joint names, joint bank statements or any utility bill/bank statment in single name but carrying ur address + another correspondence in ur partner name carrying the same address. The another correspondence could be another utility bill or income tax paper or any govt issued document with ur address clearly mentioned.
Ur partner or u can enter anytime once u have ur EC stamped.

Topic: Best place to Rent

Hi
Try southall. It is full of indians. 2 bedroom from estate agent will be around 850 but if u know someone it will cost u a lot less.
It has parks and indians will usually sit on road side benches in the evening which can be a good time pass for ur parents.

Topic: HSMP vs Tier 1

hi
The choice is ur. If u want to apply for Tier-1 then to withdraw and get the docs back it will take 15 days. then another 45 days to get results. but if u get it , it will be one go.
If u applied in may first week and seing march end applications are already processed which means the major rush of indian app. are out u will still get the result in 45-60 days. Thats an assumption though.
After that it wil take another 20 days to apply for EC.

Topic: Chest X-ray for entering UK

hi
i entered uk from gatwick airport. they asked me when did i had my last x ray done and i told them 1 yr. Then the medical officer told me they do not have enough staff so they cannot take xray. he simply stamped my disembarkation card and asked me to register with NHS once i am settled. the whole process took 5 min.
but if u enter through heathrow they might take an xray in ur case. they might or might not consider the one u carry.

Topic: Applying EC from other country than initial job country

its better if u apply from US. the process would be faster around 2 days than 1 month in India. Besides if u apply in India they will verify all ur docs. Not in case of US which not only saves time but gives u EC for sure.

Topic: UK market

Hi Sanjit
Most contract jobs do not need UK exp. and they pay really well too. The only bad feature is uncertainity. Well if u want to know trends in UK then if u do not have UK exp then u have to apply for part time/ contract/ freelance jobs first and get some exp. then apply for permanent jobs. A good idea is apply for both. If there is a shortage in ur field u might get permanent job without exp.
For a contract job u do not need an interview with employer in most cases but u need to be in Uk as they give only 24-48 hrs notice to join. Most contract jobs are through agencies. Emplyer hire agencies and agency interview people. So the route is that u register to agnecy in ur field submit them copies of ur docs and they will call u when they have a job for u.

January end is Okay. The best time is april-August. But January is a good too.

Pravin
Look for agencies in ur field and contact them that is the best way. If u have exp in networking I read a track on this forum that somebody is looking for networking in UK company why don't u contact him.

I am still telling u , u need to go though the right route, I got my first job offer in UK after 5 days of my reaching here that too permanent. Do not get disappointed so fast.
best of luck

Topic: UK market

Hi
The situation is bad but not in UK alone. It is all over the world right now. But that does not mean u will not get a job. To get a job u need to follow the right path. Look for freelance instead of permanent work. Permanent work is mostly given to those people with UK exp. so even u apply it is unlikely u will get a reply or a call. Second instead of applying on jobs contact agencies which are proficient getting work for immigrants. Everybody gets a job but it takes around 1-2 months.
But remeber job market will slump by mid October so better be in Uk before that. If u miss the oppurtunity then better arrive next year. It is difficult to get jobs in Nov-Dec and early Jan.

Topic: Not currently employed - HSMP application

Hi
ur application decision depends on the employment time u quoted in the application and the date when Home office recd ur application. What u are doing after that is not their concern. But u should have sufficient funds maintained for 3 months at the time of EC.

Topic: application passed from case worker to Manager ?

hi
The process of HSMP or Tier-1 is as follows. The caseworkers looks at the case and arrives at the decision. These decision are informal. Once the caseworker has filled point score form he then passes the case along with point score sheet to Manager. After that manager verifies the caseworker decision and then it becomes formal.
So in 100% cases the case is passed from caseworker to manger to authenticate the decision. So if that is ur case u will get ur decision this week.
In some cases, the caseworker passes the case to manager before arriving at a decision -when he thinks further verification is reqd. If u r a student they wil verify attendance from ur college and previous employment history.
