Topic: H1b Amendment & Extension

My H1b expires in November 2016 (6th year) and my employer has to file for H1b amendment due to material change. I do have my I 140 approved. I would like to know if the amendment can be filed with extension request based on my approved I 140? If so will I get extension for 3 years? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Is H1b Amendment considered Extension? Can H1 Amendment be done in PP?

Topic: Visa Stamping - Jan 26th Montreal

Yes, everything went fantastic, I should say. My interview was 5 mnts with a visa officer and he told me right there, your visa approved, come and get it day after. He asked me - how long are you in US, which company you work for, and asked me to show my I-140, that's all. There are no other people for H1 stamping that day, so no waiting in queue either.
But note that my earlier stamping was also in Canada (Montreal) two years ago, that 'might' made it easy, which I donno. Also I am with the same Client-Vendor-Emplyer between last and this time stamping.
Take all good care with each and every document and good luck.

Thats Great. Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you pick up your passport the day after your interview? I thought it takes between 2 to 4 days. Please let me know.

It's up to you to build support for petitions you care about and gather more signatures. A petition must get 150 signatures in order to be publicly searchable on WhiteHouse.gov.

Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

kamakazee,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. H4 EAD is my best bet since the hope to file for AOS with approved I140 doesn't seem to happen anytime soon. Thanks again.

Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

Hello Kamakazee,

I have been following this thread closely and I have a question similar to the one posted by waitgratiion. I can relate to his situation. I and my wife are on H1 with her I140 approved (PD Aug 2012). Unfortunately, I had to switch jobs twice and I never got to the approved I140 stage (MS in Civil Eng - working with Construction Management/Project Management firms so it is hard to educate my employers and get approval with the GC process immediately when I start working with them) and my 6th year of my H1 will expire soon (Dec 2015). I have done a little bit of research to see if I can take advantage of the H4 EAD rule (I am aware that it will most likely be effective Jan/Feb of next year). I understand that H1 to H4 is a few months and again few more months to get H4 EAD. Isn't there any way to switch from H1 to H4 EAD? I would appreciate your thoughts.

I meant that we would see approvals early next year because my PD is end of July. Hopefully, we might get it sooner.
