Topic: Can Secondary Applicant's medical be done in Canada while the file is being processed in Delhi?

Yes medical can be done here so long as it's through a designated medical practitioner. The list of DMP's can be found on CIC's website. Just make sure that the information regarding where it should go at the top is accurate. As well it can take a couple weeks to get an appointment so they should book the appointment as soon as it's been requested.

Topic: please help london processing time

Definitely contact your MP again and request your CAIPS notes. Unfortunately in some cases they lose paperwork, bring forward dates disappear etc etc etc.... happened to us and caused a 10 month delay in which we were told everything was processing as normal.

As well you can contact CIC and ask what the processing time for London is or look it up online....

Hope it helps

Topic: Help needed with CAIPS received

3) What do the ā€œ0sā€ in front of the codes represent?

Not complete

4) What does the ā€œ1ā€ in front of the Sec Crim mean? Should I say that they finished the background check and it is now in the process of issuing the visa?

Pass

Crim checks and background checks aren't always the same..... I can't offer more info as I filed inland but I would google "CAIPS DECODED" for more info.

chances are then that they will finish the background check with CSIS.... we've been waiting 4 months since submitting similar info... hopefully your's is faster.

Topic: This is Insane

I can completely relate. I have been in the process of sponsoring my husband since Jan 2007. My recommendation is to call CSIS. They will have someone call you back who will tell you to fax them. They will be able to tell you one of three things:

1. It has been requested
2. It is in process
3. It has been completed and CIC has the information.

As well I would request your FOSS or CAIPS notes. This will tell you when the background check was initiated. In our situation it turned out that CIC lost some information, and despite us calling numerous times failed to mention that they had misplaced it for nearly a year.

Just to give you a head's up, it will take CSIS and CAIPS about a month before you will hear from them. There has also been one other case that I have heard about where CSIS had actually already given their information a year before, but CIC had failed to update the information into the system, so their file just sat there gathering dust.

Good luck :)

Topic: Medical results

Sometimes (okay most times) it shows up on E-CAS. Other times you call the CIC and they will tell you so long as you are very specific in saying "Can you tell me whether or not my medical has been received?"

If you are outside Canada you can call the Call Center through foreign affairs at

If you are within Canada it's 1-888-242-2100 Choose options 1, 2, 1

Topic: Where to start?

My husband is an American Citizen, I am Canadian. I have 2 sons from a previous marriage, and together we have one son with dual citizenship. My ex has given the okay for us to move the older two boys with us to the states, but presently we are in Canada......

So where and how do we start? Can he sponsor us from within Canada or would he have to move to the US? If he has to move to the US would we be allowed to go with him and start the immigration process from within the US?

Thanks in advance :)

Topic: Ecas updates

Ecas can be updated anytime for files, it's processing dates that get updated on Tuesdays.

Not sure on the Vacation thing, maybe time to request CAIPS?

Yes I've seen PR's denied on several forums.

Topic: Wife is applying for me as family class

I would do the medical last, literally right before submitting that way it has enough time to be received (can take up to 3 months after they get to that point in your case.) They can extend it for up to a year as well......
