Topic: how much time it takes in TSC to renewal AP and EAD?

In my experience EAD takes between 2 and 10 weeks and AP 8 - 10 weeks

Topic: Total Chaos????

There is a logic....cases received after July 07 have in effect paid for EAD and AP up front...if the i-485 is processed quickly the USCIS keeps the money without providing any additional service. On the other hand if they allow too much time to pass they have to provide those services without any additional fee. In your case as a pre-July 2007 filer you have to pay additional fee for AP and EAD so there is no great incentive for them to get yours out of the way.

Topic: Confusion on EAD renewal fees !!!

If you applied in August 2007 you would be under the new fee structure which means that the renewal of your EAD is included. If you did not send the appropriate amount of money they would have returned the application.

Simply apply for it.

Topic: Finally Fingerprint notice

I remember for my first fingerprinting I only took my NY Driver's license because the notice said that would be fine. However, it caused me a bit of time because the supervisor said that he had to get the license verified which took about 15 minutes. He suggested that it is always best to use a valid passport.

Topic: Fingerprint Not Available

That does not really matter. I got four EADs and all had the 'fingerprint not available' legend even though they did have my biometrics. There was never an issue one way or another so don't let it bother you.

Topic: Auto insurance Renewal Denial - What are my other options?

A DUI or DWI violation will affect the citizenship application process. Points otherwise accumulated will not. You need to be sure that youa re still allowed to drive because once you accumulate a certain amount of points here in NY your license is automatically revoked or suspended. if you are caught driving with a suspended or revoked license that could be a problem for later immigration process.

Topic: Lawyer vs self-prepared applications...

What matters is that all forms are properly completed and all documents requested are presented.

Topic: Is AOS an immigration status ?

AOS is a non immigrant status because once you have applied for it you are no longer in the previous status from which you applied.

Topic: DWI and affect on Green card

I am a bit horrified that there is almost a glorification of drinking and driving to the point where ways of disguising the BAC are being proposed. Apart from the possible negative effect that a DUI or DWI charge may or may not have on the immigration process, it is dangerous. Many persons have lost their lives as a result of this type of action. I have no sympathy for persons who drink and drive and get arrested. Please do not drink and drive. That is the responsible message to send.

Topic: I-485 RFE for Birth Certificate. Please help.

While the context is different my church has baptismal records going back 250 years so check on the religious institution. You might be surprised.
