That's true and with Skype's international calling plan, they waive their connection fee.

Topic: International calling

A lot of these low per min offers look attractive, but read the fine line. Many service providers will nickle and dime you by adding ridiculous connection fees and weekly/monthly service fees. This industry is completely deregulated so its open to scams. Skype to Skype is the way to go - its 100% free.

Topic: Immigration Alert

I believe the Health Care bill has added stipulation that would hold back health care funding to illegal immigrants. Can someone else confirm?

Topic: H1B stamp in Canada for pending I485

Processing time is the same for all consulates - typically 48 hours - assuming all your paper is in order

Bank statement (1-2 months), copies of recent pay stubs and an employment letter (on company letter head) are typically required.

Out of curiosity, what exactly is this fellow's qualification wrt to the Associate Dir. White House Office of Public Liaison job? Isn't he an actor?

And its India by a wide margin, 5x. I'm surprised by China's low number. Given the large number of Chinese graduate students in US universities, this tells us many are heading back home after graduation and taking their knowledge gained with them.

The top 10 countries of citizenship of alien beneficiaries included India (1,219), China (254), Canada (174), South Korea (120), Philippines (113), Mexico (99), United Kingdom (79), Colombia (54), Venezuela (52), and France (46).

This is complicated and I haven't seen any topics on this subject on Trackitt. Google search for "245i law" returns a lot of useful info. Definitely seek a lawyer's advise and a good one too!

Topic: Times Are Getting Tough...

No dollar crash is happening anytime soon. With recession fears spreading globally, the greenback remains the safest currency. Beside, your link displays an article that was posted in Nov 2007 - old news.

This kind of falls in the area of job discrimination. Potential lawsuits could land Microsoft and the US government in court.

A while. How long, who knows? But India EB2 with your PD will be quite a while.

Topic: January 2009 Visa Bulletin now available on Mumbai consulate's website

I wouldn't except much movement for the next few months, in fact some retrogression will occur. Second/Third quarter should see significant changes based on trending from previous years. All this same, this is very disconcerting.

Topic: H1-B extension with no changes

Treat the extension as you would with apply for an H1B the first time. Make sure all supporting documents are presented, as you did with the first application. You can use the same support letter, but include new work that has been completed. Remember, you're justifying your work role and responsibilities for an extension request. The more information (accurate) you include the better.
