I spoke with a level 2 officer for about 15 minutes and she was kind enough to explain the process.
Each country has a quota of visa numbers available each month regardless of the PD being current or not. So unless there are a very few people in line from your country waiting for visa numbers you should get your GC soon. And do not forget it is all inclusive quota...meaning...employment/family/asylum etc etc etc. adds up to the quota.
so if you think visa numbers are available then there are a few more people in front of you in the queue, so you have to be patient. Also, may be your file got pushed under the pile, but this would be bad luck. |
