EAD can take from 10 days to over 100 days. Expect the unexpected with USCIS! Mine is 50 days and counting!
If your drivers license was issued by a state of the USA, then you can use it to renew it, that should not be a problem. I have renewed mine without getting any immigration issue involved.
Yes, your current status is PENDING PERMANENT RESIDENT APPLICANT; you can stay in the USA until a decision is made on your AOS, but you do need AP to travel and EAD to work. And if they ask you about your immigration status at the Drivers License (DPS) you can show them your receipt notice of your AOS. |
