I will tell you guys a cpl of stories:
Story #1
"A guy that I know" did a no name MBA in the US. He didn't get a job in the US, went back to India. He comes back to the US 6-7 years later on L1. Company sponsors his GC on EB1. He gets his GC in a year.
Story #2
"A guy that I know" manages to get a software programming consulting job out of school at the end of 2000 and beginning of 2001(bad bad job market). Gets laid off once, gets another job, applies for his GC in EB3 in 2003, changes his job using AC21 and finally gets his GC in 2007.
I know another guy who got through EB2 with just a Masters from the US. A guy in the same company having similar education and 2 -3 years more work experience gets applied in EB3 because he wasn't able to push his case with the company lawyer.
Moral of the story:
You have to make sure that whatever you're doing is within the law. The interpretations of the law are where you can take some chances after doing due dilligence. Some people who took chances are somewhere where a lot of us want to be. |
