My spouse is from India and we are both in USA with H1b visa and we have applied through Buffalo. Our case is neat and clear just that we lived in various countries.
Screening are done in 3 steps: background (checking the authenticity of documents you sent with your application) , security (checking if you are not a terrorist) and criminality (related to your PCCs). Usually the second one takes the longest as it is done by CSIS independently from CIC.
If you are in USA I don't understand why you had to send a photocopy of your Indian PCCs. My spouse got it from the General Consulate of India, it cost $20 and it takes 4 weeks. It is quick and neat. They need ORIGINAL and not photocopy and in India it is always a pain in the neck to get things. I don't know why you had to do this in India while you can do it through Indian embassies/consulates in USA.
I don't think your delay is about the photocopy of your Pccs because if they are not happy with it they usually ask you to send an original right away however this could be a reason ... once again why didn't you do it in USA ?? |
