Overall - Extremely pleasant experience.
The IO was very nice, she put us on Oath, ask the general Qs (crime related), affirmed our names, addresses, Job role. Verified my wife's social card, passport, confirmed date of last entry, Did not even ask for EVL. She confirmed that the issue was due to my fingerprints. I had collected all police verification letters upfront and she was happy to know that.
Within 10-12 mins from when we walked in, she said okay - you are approved, expect your welcome letter in mail in 2 days and your physical card is 6-8 weeks. We cannot travel outside USA till that time and will have to seek a I-551 stamp if we need to - takes about 2-3 days. I had a heap of paper with me but all that she took was the original I-94s. Also had me sign some declarations in relation to the answers to her Qs. Had an Attorney who kept the whole conversation very pleasant. Nothing all all where there was a need for him to step in but was a big help to keep our anxiety levels low.
She concluded the interview with a congratulations handshake and walked us out. I wish more people have similar experience. Lucky to have the whole process last only 5 months from start to finish.
On a side note, I was surprised to learn from my attorney that my wife will not be able to use the EAD now for her now job and will have to either wait for her physical card or apply for I-551 with a copy of her offer letter.

Congratulations!
Can you let us know how much your attorney charged for interview preparation and presence?

Donno the charge. It was all taken care of by my company.
It must by a decent amount from my prior expreince with them. Also he flew in from Dallas the previous night just for this.

thanks for your sharing. what kind of police verification letters did you collect? how did you do? there is no specific reason cited on the interview notice, so I am wondering why.

PCCs are needed if your fingerprints were not captured correctly (twice) or you had an experience with the law enforcement in your past. If the interview letter does not state that and one of the above two applies, the IO will ask you to get that. So it is better to save yourself some time and get it upfront if you receive an interview notice.
Typically this is needed from all counties (in USA) or countries where you have stayed in the last 5 years. Every county provides this service at a nominal fee. You can approach consulate/embassies of other countries. The process can take a little time so start it early on.

we've only been asked to take finger print once, after the I-485 submission more than two years ago. So i assume the finger print was good. We've never had any trouble with any law. So does that mean mostly like we won't need to prepare for it?
It seems there isn't any standard procedure to get the PCC. Some says FBI, some says local police dept, or state police or even court.
