Hi All,

What could be the pros and cons in delaying the visa stamping, post getting the pitetion approved? Will there be any problem in the interview if we go for visa stamping after 4 months of the Pitetion approved?

Thanks in Advance.

If you want, you do not have to go even in the 3 years. You can apply for extension using your I-797 extension.

My wife and daughter had their visa interview on 04/11 at Mumbai consulate. The VO said your visas are approved.Still haven't received their passports as of 04/16. The passport tracking on caec website says " your passport is still at Embassy/Consulate". The visa application status shows "Administrative processing". Really worried about the situation. Is this normal? Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading

to jimmi:

It has not been even a full week so there is nothing to be worried. Since it says 'Administrative Processing' you just have to wait it out for few more days before the passport is issued with visa stamps

If it comes up just tell them why you delayed appearing for stamping... like you had personal reasons...or your project was delayed etc

#Q2 What are problems/queries I could face?

I do not see any particular problems if everything is genuine...unless there are issues that your company has no real projects/work for you directly with them or their clients... and is merely a staffing firm which would place you on billing

Passport status changed to "Passport has been received from consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery". Visa application status on ceac website still show Administrative Processing. Any idea what must be going on?

Thanks you

Interview Date: Feb 26 2018
Documents submission (2 white slips; 221(g)): Feb 28 2018
Acknowledgement of docs received: Feb 28 2018
Location: New Delhi
Days post docs submission: 51 (and counting)
Last case status update: Apr 12 2018 (moved from Feb 26 to Apr 11 2018)
Current Status: Administrative Processing
Query: Its the 8th week running and I have not heard anything from the Embassy yet. I had input from a lot of people that I should have heard from the Embassy after the status date got updated to Apr 11 2018, but to my utter dismay, nothing so far. Its 9 more days to hit the 60 day mark that the Embassy says is the max for making the decision. I have a molecular bio/microbiology background and am a Postdoc in US (switched to H1B last year and had flew in for Visa stamping). Have called and emailed but got generic replies. Has anyone experienced the same? Any input would be great.
