HI All,

May i know this important question

I got H1b Extended in 2015 till April 26 2018 and thats wht I 797 showed

But later I went to India for stamping and while coming back I got I 94 in airport till May 6 2018

Now My H1b extension deadline is April 26 2018 or May 6 2018?

Offcourse I am going to do it this week only but I was curious to know my deadlines just incase another H1b transfer is needed if my H1b extension is in trouble

so what is it April 26 2018 or May 6 2018?

to prashrocks:

It is May 6th...sometimes CBP officers will give you an extra 10 days after your I-797 expiry date on your I-94. The assumption being that after your I-797 expires, you have 10 days to prepare and depart the country. The latest I-94 always decides your legal status in the US, so you are good till May 6.

to prashrocks:

It's not always guaranteed to get the extra days on the I-94...I think I have it on my previous I-94, but not the current one. So good for your particular case that you got it. Hopefully your transfer gets approved soon.

to CantwaitGC:

The 10 extra days are to prepare you to leave the country, but does not extend your work authorization. Your H1b work authorization expires on the day the I797 expires.
