NO UPDATE FROM USCIS SINCE MY INTERVIEW

Like this thread?  I don't like this threadI like this thread
Posted by 2003BONESTKCB (20) 28 Jan 2010
Hi All,
My interview was on January 22 last thursday in OKC and the IO told us that he will be approving my case. He took my I-94/AP but did not take my EAD or stamp my passport. I have seen no LUDs/updates on the USCIS website or I have not received any welcome E-mail. I have received none of the follow-up information either electronically or through regular mail from MSC.
Is this normal? It has been a week since the interview and having no updates is worrying me. If any one of you are in the same situation or been through this before, please reply...
Thanks

Hi

Did you make an Infopass appointment 30 days after the interview date to know why nothing has happened to your case? I guess I should wait till February 22 and make an infopass appointment, and atleast get my passport stamped so that I can travel out of US and come back.

Other weird thing about my case is my I-130/I-485 status on USCIS is still shown as "Initial Review", NOT as "Test or Interview". The status of the cases are not updated diligently I guess.

This is so stressful.

Yes, we did more than 1 infopass appointment..the most recent was just last January (the 6th month since the interview in July)...and yet nothing...everytime we went, all they tell us is that our case is still in review...neither can they stamp your passport...stamping it means your case was approved...which in ours, is still pending for further review...with regards to case status update online, I agree that they are not updated diligently...mine still says initial review...when infact we already had our interview back in July 2009. I know it is so stessful but don't let it affect your daily life....as long as marriage is legit, there is nothing to worry... :) I guess good luck to us with this dag on wait! :)

If I can encourage you people, such was my case. I went for an interview and the IO did not ask many questions. Just the regular ones..... I thought everything went ok. The IO took my I-94 and that was it. I waited for six months and a day to the six month, I got an email that card production was ordered.

Word has it that if they are to deny you, then you will hear from them soonest. If everything is ok, then just wait. They sure will get to you.

hi, i have the same situation, our interview was in 6th jan. in Baltimore, the officer said that i have everything needed to get my GC, but have to send the case for further review (which means they are going to investigate the marriage and check if we are living together in a real marriage), he took my i-94 but didn't give us any letters.
he mentioned that the cause of that action was because my wife had 4 divorces before and that she gave GC to 2 of her ex husbands, so it has more to do with her more than with me, and he said that if we receive nothing in the mail in 30 days, we should make infopass and go to ask about our case.
i have seen that they made internal update on the case on USCIS site in 12th jan. but i don't know what that update was, it rarely could be and approval or a transfer to another section to investegate the marriage or to set a second interview appointment for us!!!
i am soooooooooooo stressed out especially that i have read that some people are still stuck in this step for months or years and didn't hear anything from USCIS yet, although the lawyers say its just a 3-6 months further delay and nothing to be afraid of if we have a real marriage and a strong evidences.
this waiting is driving me crazy but i can do nothing but to wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have set an infopass appointment for after 2 weeks, and i believe am gonna hear that there's no update, but at least i have to go and ask.
i have seen many threads about this issue popping up recently on this site while it was not common in the last few months, and i think thats because its a new calender year and they are a little bit slow and have a whole year to handle cases, so they are not in a hurry compared to the end of year when they want to close as much deals they can for their own records and for processing time achievements.

Hi
Have a quick question. If there is no update from uscis and if I do set up an infopass appointment, can I ask the IO officer to give my I-94 and AP back so that I can travel again while the case is pending? Because of work and family travel, I might have to leave the country and come back. I am assuming that once the file at a local field office, it wont be sent back to a service center and they have all our paper work/records.
Thanks

Here is the link "https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do"

Click on the tab that says "Sign-up for Case Updates". Once you register with your own user id and password, in your portfolio you can add your case receipt numbers for I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765 and so on.

Good Luck to you All !

Hi
I dont know if you know about Soft Updates and change of case status. When you enter the case number in the website you can see the status of your case i.e. whether its "Accepted/Initial Review/RFE/.............."

When you register with the website, you can add your case numbers and you can see the "last updated" information of your case. My I-130 and I-485 applications Case status was "Initial Review" and was "Last Updated" on November 2. Even after the interview there was no change in "Case status or "Last Updated". All of a sudden I got the "Card Production" email from USCIS and the status changed to "Document Production"

Hello Guys,

I am also in the same boat. Our interview was on Feb-9th-2010. At the end of the interview, interviewer told me that they will let us know the updates in the mail. I heard nothing from them until now and itz still on "Initial review" in the USCIS website. There are no LUDs at all after the interview. I am tensed/worried.

Hi Pinky,

I think itz better to take infopass frequently. As per the forums, some times the USCIS people will tell u atleast when you can get the approval like approximate time to get the approval.

Background:

Receipt date for I485/I130/I765 -- Oct 2008
First Biometrics comleted --- Nov 2008
EAD approved -- May 2009
I485 Interview -- July 2009

As of today, I485 and I130 still pending with no updates. However, today, we received a notice for my spouse to appear for fingerprinting for his I485/I765. Per notice, fingerprint card on file has expired. In order for USCIS to continue processing application, it will be necessary to have fingerprints re-taken.

Is this something normal? Please advise. thanks
