Hi Guys,
I got my I-140 approved last week 8/8, then I got an LUD on my I-485 on 8/9 then another LUD on 8/10, but the case is still pending!!!
What dos that mean???

Some say that if there are LUD changes, yours is close to the final decision,
and others say that's just a usual automatic update. You should not get into it too much.
According to these two parties, you can expect your GC tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,
or you have to wait several more months or years (eg. name-check).
As far as I know, there is no real consensus among people about LUD changes.
Thus, I would not wait or expect too much. Let's worry about our mental health.
You know funny? My 140 was approved on 8/8 and there was LUD change on 8/9,
and 485 LUD updated on 8/9, and 8/10. (Almost like yours, isn't it?)
In my case, I believe 485 LUD changes are result of 140 approval.
(Mechanical update.)
What does the change mean? NO ONE KNOWS.

but a friend of mine told me that in his case it took another 3months
for him to receive 485 approval notice after lud changes caused
by 140 approval. hope to get it soon.

I got an 08/03 LUD on I-485 2 days after I-140 approval and exactly one week before I-485 approval. My friend got an LUD on 08/10 and another one on 08/12. Her husband's I-140 was approved a few days before the first LUD. So now we're waiting to see if they'll get an approval by the end of this week. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

I did a quick research based on the approval cases in this website and others.
There seem basically 3 conditions (or extra), which will influence our getting GCs
within next couple of weeks. Of course, it's a matter of pure speculation.
1. Texas / Nebraska
Texas seems faster and more regular than Nebraska in processing
cases. (Mine is in the Husker state.) Some people seem to believe
the opposite. However, what is clear is Nebraska is a bit slower than
Texas.
2. No name check
No one knows whether ours are still in the hands of FBI or in a box located
in a warehouse of USCIS. 140 approval doesn't mean the case passed the crazy
name-check - I know this is the worst scenario. Name check might take
several months or years from now on.
3. REF
USCIS often ask applicants to re-sumit some documents or extra materials.
Normally, that easily takes up several weeks.
4. Extra
I checked some other websites. I found many cases that 140 approval and LUD
changes are not directly related to 485 approvals.
At this moment, I feel I am going crazy. It's not good for my mental health.

I've got 2 LUDs as well on 8/9 and 8/10 on my I-485 and LUD on 8/12 on my I-140. Hoping for the best since I'am EB3 ROW.
No status changes even though LUD changed on both I-140 and I-485.

I've got LUDS one day after my 140 approval exactly as you on 8/9, 8/10 , and then one on 8/14 and today 8/15. No status change though... I almost afraid this is bad sign, usually 485 just got approved, with no LUDs before.
Anyway good luck, hopefully we all get approved soon.

From what I've read in this forum and in others, it seems that the LUDs on sunday 8/5 and 8/12 are nothing more than a mere system wide update. The USCIS website is a mirror of the CLAIMS3 DB that USCIS uses internally to process the cases. It seems logical that USCIS would sync the databases over the weekend, when no one is working, which causes the LUD to change. If some of you saw a status change after the LUD, that means the decicion was made prior in the week on the original CLAIMS3 DB that did not get reflected until the sync was completed. This might be part of USCIS's efforts for improved status reporting. For cases that have been completed, the system wide update might still update the LUD with no status change, just to ensure that all records are refreshed. My 2c.

Assuming the CLAIMS/Website mirror architecture you base your assumption on is correct , it is obvious that the website is updated much more frequently than that. Emails, status changes and LUDs happen for all manner of applications at all kinds of times. While the Sunday updates were certainly likely a batch update of some kind I suspect there are also live or 'almost live' updates made too.
Furthermore, because there is such enormous inconsistency in LUD activity across applications of the same kind, and so many cases of inconsistent or perpetually inaccurate online statuses, I would say use what you see online as a guideline (unless hard copies tell a different story), but do not for a minute think you know truly how the online systems actually work.
The fact is, there are so many exceptions to pervasive trends, that even if your application doesn't follow normal patterns, it is not an indication that there is a problem.

Like yours, after several LUD changes on 8/9 and 8/10,
there has been no changes at all.
If I see any change, I will let you know.
By the way, a close friend of mine recently got his GC.
His RD was in late April and now he has the card.
He told me that his 140 (regular) was approved on July 30 and
485 on Aug 8. There were some LUD changes right after his
140 approval, he said.

I am EB2 ROW, my I-140 got approved on August 13 07, and I got only today (August 16) a LUD on my I-485. I don't have the feeling that this is due to some databank update. My application is at NSC, RD = May 10 07.

Nothing changed after those from 08/08 to 08/10. Probably, it's still too early to expect anything. If there is no news by the end of this month, I'd better be psychologically prepared for name check. Impatient and anxious. Did you hear anything?

Not really, but most of the cases were approved after 10 to 14 days after the two LUDs on the I-485

I had 4 LUDs on the last week of July. My GC was approved on 08/08. Take a look at my case and see the pattern.

Spoke to an IO in TSC just now. She said case is waiting for a visa number and that new numbers will become available only after October. This does not seem consistent with the approvals that seem to be trickling in still.
Interesting to note that NSC and TSC seem to betaking turns at issuing approvals. Last week more approvals came from NSC, whereas the week before that TSC seemed active.

On a different note, does it matter if the I-485 was applied concurrently or semi-concurrently ( applied after receiving I-140 receipt from USCIS ). I noticed a trend - concurrent applicants are getting approved faster than others. I fall under semi-concurrent filing. Does it really matter guys ?
