So if I applied in Dec 2017, I should have EAD around May-June, then 3-4 month more for the interview ..., green card after one year ...this sucks...

any known reasons behind NCS slowness? I see that TSC is much faster ...

It takes 147 days or 4.5 months for me. I am in no hurry to get my EAD card as my work visa is still more than a year from being expired, but it's a relief to know everything is in order and they are looking at my case now.

Hello,

Just to give updates to everyone here, it seems like the processing timelines was really now updated from 90 days to 4-5 months of processing for EAD application. I've reached out from our Senate office to help me to expedite our EAD applications since I cannot renew my drivers license because our H1B already expired. So she sent me an email this morning telling me that Nebraska confirmed that our EAD applications is STILL WITHIN processing time, (our RD is 10/6). So it seems LIKE, we really have to wait until end of our 5th month, for most of us (especially EB2 and up). So let's just all be patient. Nothing we can really do for now.

well, i hope it is not more than 5 months?

Hello All,

I received a email communication from my lawyer stating the new normal for EAD/AP is 5-6 months :-(.

That is too long, then it will be around April for all of us? this is not right, this is longer than H1B approval/extension processing timeline. Just too much.

do we know what's the reason for " from 90 days to 4-5 months" ?? is it temporary? might change in the next future? hope it will not go above 5 months

Probably NSC is overloaded when compared to TSC. From what i have heard & seen on this forum, NSC has been slow for atleast a year now. I am not sure about the previous times.

How you'll holding up my fellow NSC filers? Any news for early Oct filers?
For my SR on Jan 8th, they asked to wait 90 days, so it seems about another month or so before we hear anything about EAD/AP. Probably mid March for most of early Oct filers. I'm just wondering do they transfer the 485 to NBC around same timeline or should we hear something before the EAD/AP decisions? I'm bit worried about the retrogression situation, if we expect to hear about transfers mid March, then another ~2months to schedule the interviews in about ~1.5months. So we are looking at July for interviews for Oct filers. Last time retrogress happened August, now the TSC is using up most of visa, this can jump to July.

to OpenSL:

Last time retrogression for EB1 (India and China) happened in June'17, based on the flow of people getting GCs from 2016 filing and so it, will not be surprised if the retrogression happens in April'18 itself for this time. Which in turn indicates we all need to wait till Oct'18 for the GC process to resume and then must medical RFE, etc etc. Sad to see many of the TSC filers with RD same or later than mine will probably get GC in their hand by March'17 and we here are still waiting for EAD/AP and NBC transfers due to the slowness of NSC... disappointing!!!

to onlytupai:

Oh, wow. I just went back and look at it, yes it was June for EB1 India and China so it seems same can happen around May or as early as April with the way TSC is handling the processing. That is ridiculous.

Are the medicals only valid for a year? can someone help me understand what will happen for a DEC 2017 filler? EAD in summer? GC next year? are the processing times that bad? :(

to Cutarescu:

Yes, from the date that your doctor signed the forms. Mine going to expire early August 2018, so I pray for early green with no retrogression for EB2 ROW, otherwise I'm screwed and hate to go back to these freaking money suckers to do the same set of medical tests.

For Dec, I think expect similar timeline, around 2-3 months after the Oct filers, so I'd say around Aug/Sep?

Yes medicals are valid for 1 year
A friend of mine who filled in DEC have already received EAD combo card (processing took around 60 days), NBC, concurrent with premium processing of i140

That's interesting, that someone from December received the EAD before October 17 :), I thought that they are processing in the order of receiving stuff.

Lets imagine a conveyor line with the cases. If one case require more attention they will not stop all the line, they'll just take it out of conveyor to have a closer look while other cases being processed further

Any news? Me waiting for almost 140 days. Looks like we’re in for a bumpy ride with retrogression looming. On the other hand TSC folks are working within interview dates. Sad.
