Hi there,

I had already my interview last month on 19 of March 2018, and my case was approved on 20 of March 2018. Received my green card on 24 of March 2018. My field office was in West Palm Beach, Florida. Good luck. Thank you!

Thank you very much and congratulations!

I was really worried because mine is Atlanta and the processing time is 11 months. Now I am feeling better as this processing time is not since the receiving date.

Hi All,

I am trying to understand the next set of process and timelines for my case to plan a travel.

What is the next step of action to watch out for after EAD/AP approval?

I am from India and other information is available in my profile, if someone can help me understand your timelines it would help me. Thanks for your help!

To be honest, I don't know anyone that dared to travel even with AP as long as their i-485 was processing. I think it's just safer to stay put until then (but then, I'm not an immigration lawyer or anything).

if AP is approved, and i 485 is pending, i guess it's safe to travel. In fact that is the whole purpose of AP to enable travel when i 485 is under process.

And I want to add another question: What is the actual priority date?

1. I-140 received date
2. I-140 approval date
3. I-485 received date

To provide a bit of info from my own case: My I-140 approval notice shows "I-140 received date" as priority date. And my I-485 transfer notice shows "I-140 approval date" as priority date!

Let us what you'll find out!

to mohclev:

Once I-140 is approved PD date is locked which in case of EB2 is PERM filing date and in case of EB1 it's I-140 filing date.

Hi there,

Once your EAD/AP approved, the next step is the interview schedule. I personally would not travel and risk myself. I do not know what type of visa you have at the moment, but in my case I had my J-1 visa. If I was travelling with EAD card, my J-1 visa had to be cancel, and I would be only with EAD card. In case if my I-485 was denied or was not approved, my EAD would be terminated automatically, and if I do not have any valid non-immigrant visa, then I will be out of status. That is why our international office in my research institute suggested me not to travel even with EAD card, unless it is extremely urgent. Good luck with your interview. Thank you!

MY RD is in Dec for NSC. I am still waiting on EAD/AP. The case was transferred to NBC and yesterday case changed to "Ready to be scheduled for an Interview". Is this normal?

That was fast !!!! congrats. Did your status got changed online too?

My RD is 31st of Jan with NBC transfer of 4th of April. I noticed there is a mail coming my way from USPS website so I am not sure whats that.

All the statuses are still the same online.

I got an update in the USCIS site that interview was schedule about a week ago. No update in the new site (DHS). I was surprise because the schedule of interview was about a month later after NBC transfer (quite fast compared with other guys here 2-3 months). Today we got the letters with the interview date.
