I received approval before congressman even initiated enquiry. The lady from congressman's office mentioned however that there is a backlog everywhere these days. Also, it is best to contact congressman after you have waited at least 90 days with no updates. My suggestion is for you to wait for some more time before any next step.

01/10 Supplement J response received for 485
03/22 Employment-Based Interview Was Scheduled
03/27 Received letter, interview scheduled on 04/30

My IO was looks new employee, but she was cool and want to finish ASAP.
She asked me, where is your lawyer? I said my attorney locate at different location and he told me, my case is straight forward and you no need any lawyer.
I submitted my Supp J with RFE and my two kids are US citizens. Got married in 2005.
So she took OATH and asked me, what documents you can provide me.
I submitted my EVL, H1 & H4 document for me and my wife. She took copies of those.
Submitted original W2s for last 12 years, She asked me, can i keep it. I said YES.
Birth certificates mine and kids. I told her, if you want you can keep originals and I can request new ones from state GOV. She said, I'm good with copies.
She checked marriage certificate original.
Asked 485 YES/NO questions to me and wife.
She asked me do you have any questions. I asked her, when can I know final decision.
She said everything looks good, I will check with supervisor, once I get approval. I will update it in system and you will get final notice in two weeks.
Then I said, if you need any other documents, I can drop it, what ever you need. She said you case is very straight forward. Will get the status back in 2 weeks.
When I'm coming out, I aked do you want to take copies of my EAD & AP? She said YES! and took it.
that's all mine. it's little different than usual!
She directly told me, I'm new employee. I can't take decision right now.
And she reviewed my utility bills, car loans, lease documents and insurances. And she took car insurance document only.

This is 10'th day and No update till now. Still my case saying "Employment-Based Interview Was Scheduled"
Any Suggestions!
What day i'm allowed to take infopass?

Nothing special...
She sent a message to the local office where I had interviewed and told me that I will get their response within two weeks via email. At the end of the conversation, I asked her whether there is any issue on my application and she answered there is no issue indicated (That's good news though).

Thank you.

If you don't hear anything in 2 weeks, definitely contact your congressman. I can imagine how frustrating every day must be.

Has anyone here past the 120 days post interview?
I was recently advised to drop off a 'follow up letter' in the same place as I interviewed with name, A number, date of interview etc and a few sentences explaining the case and timeline. Has anyone ever done this? Infopasses and congressional inquiries have proven to be useless so far.

Ciao! come stai? questa situazione non ho senso.
I would definitely do that, after so many requests. unbelieveable. I hope this goes quickly for you guys. I feel the pain.

I just sent a cognressional one to the Newark office. almost a month since the interview. Got an RFE for medicals, which was sent immediately to them.

I got approved after 126 days of interview. Also, if you remember another user indianchick here, they got approved in 5 months past interview. I feel your frustration, every day must be difficult.

Have you tried USCIS Ombudsman option? One lawyer recommended that the only thing we can do during this wait period is follow up every 30 days with infopass appointment.

I am hitting 120 days mark in few days, I tried calling L2 officer and the response was to wait patiently.

Case looks clear and officer is still reviewing .

After passed the 120 days, I was able to talk with L2 office. She sent a message (inquiry) to the local office where I interviewed.

I got an email from them: "We are still reviewing your case. We will mail you a notice when we make a decision."

I think I should consider either Ombudsman or congressional inquiries now.

Interview Questions:

The officer didn’t ask many questions. the interview is summarized below.
1. The first question she asked was in Year 2014, you have three H1 approvals and for which employer where you working.
I told her that Employer A filed for my extension in 2014 and I worked with Employer A till September 2014 and after that joined Employer B and I worked till December 2014. And EY also had filed for H1 but I joined them in January 2015.
2. Looks like many employers were competing for you.
I said , “Yes”. I was SME and work in niche area in IFRS and US GAAP auditing, Creating P &L, balance sheets etc.
I gave her H1 approvals for all employers in 2014 year, also all H1 approval I-797 from 2002 till 2017.
3.After that she just saw my original Birth certificate, marriage certificate and Baby’s birth certificate.
I gave her copy of the my Certificate and my daughter US passport card, birth certificate and passport. She asked me when did I join back work after delivery. I said after 7 weeks and then gave her Current Employer H1 amendment approval for New Client Location and she took the document.

Then baby started crying and she told she is almost done.
To my husband she asked following questions.

1. I see that you were working in UK. do you work now.
He responded that he is currently not working. I added to his comment saying that his EAD expired on December 30 and didn’t get the approval on time hence had to resign and he would rejoin now.
IO asked if he got the EAD approval. We said yes.

IO started checking my passport and asked me why I went to Shanghai seeing my China visa.
I told her that I was working for Employer A and it was business trip to visit client. she scanned through my Sweden, Germany, UK and Denmark stamping and I told her that it was all business visit.

The baby was getting restless and I told her that We just came back from India on April 21 and the baby is jet lagged. She asked was it a family trip, I said “ Yes”
I gave her AP approval with stamping and Passport stamping copy which she said it’s not required.

she said she will just take 3 more minutes and she is done.
She took our pics and index finger print and I asked her if she needed any documents from me for which she said no.

I asked if she needs Employment verification letter for which IO asked is it recent. I said it’s current and gave her a copy and asked if she needs client letter. she said “No. I see you have all the documents and have come over prepared that’s is good.( IO did not ask any questions on current employment, Job or Pay slips)

At end of the Interview, She gave us notice of Interview Results and said she will take some time to review the case and that we will get the response in mail within 30 days. she does not require any additional documents.

Its 21 days as of May 17, I was getting really concerned as my Medical was about to expire and had to again renew EAD etc. I had schedule Info pass on May 22 but as per my attorney advice I again reached out to my Congresswomen on May 14 and explained about my Medical expiry date. Congresswomen emailed me today afternoon that she had contacted Newark Field Office alerting them about the expiration date of medical and the Congressional Liaison responded that the Officer is currently completing the adjudicating Process and that I would hear Good News soon. Within 2 hours, my case status changed to I-485 approved and New Card in Production.

Thanks for reading my lost post, to those who are waiting for your EAD/AP approval, Interview Notice or I-485 approval, when you feel you are in Blackhole and waiting time creates frustration, fear and anxiety when online status is same for months, Please reach out to your Congressperson and have them follow up for you to get updates.
Once again I take this opportunity to THANK each and every one of you for sharing your Thoughts, Guidance, Concerns, fear and JOY/Peace. All the Best for Speedy GC approval. THANK YOU !!
