to APgirl:

I will have interview soon.

I talked to my attorney and she asked to carry Employer verification letter mentioning you are currently employed, weekly pay rate, annual pay rate (annual pay rate should be equal or greater than what DOL prevailing wages), latest Pay stubs, last two years W2's. I have not heard anyone being asked about Tax returns, but its always good to carry tax returns of last two years (2016 and 2017 if filed).

Good luck.

God is Great:)

to APgirl:

Download IRS return from IRS website(its free) for last 2-3 years and that is a good enough for tax return proof for your interview.

Hello,

I plan to file my I-485. Previously I was a full year on J1 tax treaty and therefore issued a 1042s form instead of W2. I heard before that Ideally anyone staying more than 2 years on J1 visa, should pay back the tax that is benefited due to tax treaty. I'm planning to pay back this tax being in safeside. Does anyone having the experience to pay back this tax? Should I simply file with this year's tax return? Or there is no need to pay right now unless asked. Please suggest.
