From OH-Law Firm:-

09/17/2008: Visa Recapture and Nursing Relief Bills Rocked by Opponents' Amendments for Other Bill, H.R. 6020, in House Judiciary Committee Today

* The visa recapture and nursing emergency relief bills mark-up hearing in the House Judiciary Committee today were marred by the apparent anti-immigration member of the Committee using a high level practical filiburst tactics blocking take-up of these immigration bills by bombarding amendments to another bill, H.R. 6020. Congratulations, FAIR?!?! On the Senate side, we see no light at the end of tunnel for the House-passed reauthorization legislations including Conrad bill, Religious Worker bill, and Regional Center Pilot Program bill, when the latter two bills are destined to sunset in 13 days!! Incredible.

x-------------------------------------- x

Time to show this unnamed member whom we all know is Steve King (R-Iowa) 202- 225-4426 that SINGH is KING !!.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y83P0tiXDXo

He deliberately brought amendment upon amendment upon amendment on HR 6020 and discussed unessential topics so that HR 5882 will not be brought up.

These anti-immigrant representatives should not forget that someday down the line.....we'll be citizens and have voting power. At that time we shall not forget who supported us and who did not.

Roxy,

Where were you today when everyone was calling senators, watching the proceedings and gathering support ? Were you hiding in the rat-racist-hole from where you emerge once a while to write some crap about Indians ?

Today's HR 5882 would've helped everyone - EB2 ROW, EB2 India, China, EB3 ROW...all categories and yet you went to your rat hole ?

You talk about Indians becoming anti-immigrant after becoming citizens. But look at you, you already are an anti-immigrant.

We don't need enemies like NumbersUSA when we already have a Roxy in our midst !!

to immigqs:

Nothing new immigqs. This is exactly what I'd stated in my thread asking for everyone to call their representatives yesterday. Anti-immigrant groups are fooling people by saying that the visa capture will provide jobs to over 500,000 people. These idiots are not saying the truth that these visa numbers were provided years ago to give greencards to those WHO ARE ALREADY working in the US.

Did you notice that this John Wallace's article does not allow for comments ? This is how these racist, anti-immigrants argue. They do not allow or let anyone know the truth. Last night after asking for support for the HR 5882 bill on Trackitt and ImmigrationPortal, I spend several hours searching for, registering and asking for similar support in any immigration forum that I could find. One of them was FAIR (Fairus.org). They have stated similar lies on their site but with comments enabled. I posted a long comment about the truth and lo and behold, within minutes of posting it, my comments were deleted. No trace !!

Hence we all immigrants need to spread the word to everyone possible, on forums, in discussions with friends, co-workers etc. We need to call up the congressmen and tell them about the truth about our plight.

The battle is not yet over and the battlelines are drawn. The bill will be discussed someday for sure. We need to make sure that we've taken all possible action to ensure victory.

It's really sad to know there are people who spend time to anti-legal immigrant who are paying taxes to us govt. Isn't it all american are immigrant except American Indian? Isn't most of the brilliant NASA PhD's are immigrant? I don't know what are they thinking. Btw, please keep us updated if H.R. 5882 bills will appear for debate soon.

Hi DesiVidesi,

I really appreciate your comments.

The thing is nothing can be done to this bill at this time as the economy in bad shape and being an election year no one wants have a new headache some thing like this.

Once the elections are over and all things got settled, slowly these bills will see the light some time during the 2nd qtr of 2009.

Lets hope for the best.

to DesiVidesi:

DesiVdesi,

Good to see your postings there.

This bill is published in a misrepresented way and most of the US people have misunderstood this bill and hence a lot of opposition to this bill. Hope they can understand it properly in the mean time.
