Did anyone receive Biometric appointment after approval? |

Hi,
My case was approved on Sep 3rd and received approval notices as well. And I have been waiting for the actual card to arrive. I came to know from other trackitt threads, whoever received approval email first (mostly tranfer cases) have difficulty or long delays before getting physical greencard. I made few calls to the number specified on approval notice, everytime they said, biometrics are not available. I did my first biometrics during february this year. Then last week, i received biometric appointment letter and went to nearby ASC on friday to give biometrics. By friday evening the status on i-485 changed back to the previous status
"Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing because it has jurisdiction over the case"
I called USCIS yesterday, and CSR forwarded the call to supervisor but she was not much useful. She just opened SR.
Does anyone have the same situation? Does the biometrics need FBI clearance again? How long does it take to get the greencard? Do we need to follow up with them again?
Please share your experience.

Exactly in same situation here. Mine was approved on june 27th and went through the same situation as yours. I also have same status online for my case. Also went through 2 nd biometrics three weeks ago. Nothing since then. Got the same answer from calling customer service. Mine is TSC>CSC>TSC. Anyone else like this?

prrace and avi. On you welcome notice, did it specifically said that they need your biometrics? Or did it say that you'll receive your card in such and such days?
|
to avi00000:
Thanks for your reply avi...Did you try Infopass? I am planning to try with Infopass.
|
to james2004:
I didn't receive the welcome notice, just the approval notice.

I tried infopass the same day i had 2nd biometrics (same day, since the nearest center is 3 her drive from my place). The officer says everything is ok and just missing my picture. That's why they asked for 2nd biometrics. Should receive card in few days. But then it's been more than 15 days already. Since i have to travel in december, office stamped my passport with 551 (proof of GC).

to james2004:
my approval notice said "The above application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo/fingerprint/signature). Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date, time and location to appear.
If you have not received your permanent resident card or the above mentioned notice to appear for biometrics processing within 90 days, please call this office at the number listed below."

avi, what documents did you take to the Infopass. I have booked infopass at 2pm EST today. Will update you on how it went. Also, should i book separate appointments for me and my wife? I specified no. of persons as 2 when booking the infopass. Will that be enough to take my wife and get her passport stamped with 551? Thanks in advance.

to prrace:
thanks prrace and avi. My associate, she got a welcome notice that says..congratulations..welcome to the United states..etc. So it's different than you two. On hers it said she would receive the card in a certain number of days and if not she should contact USCIS. Good luck to both of you. Hope you got it resolved soon.

to prrace:
prrace, i think just one infopass for both of you should work (btw: i'm single, so no dependent). On my infopass the officer didn't look at my approval notice and pulled up my case on computer. Then he asked for passport and stamped it. So probably infopass appt receipt and approval notice, that's all you need. Keep us posted about your appointment today.

to avi00000:
Hi, I just got back from infopass. I received the 551 stamp on passport valid for one year. Btw, they took I-94 card from the passport and asked for EAD card also. Since I did not take my EAD card, she gave me an envelop with address and asked me to send EAD by mail. They do not know how much more time needed before we get the greencards. I guess I would have to wait somemore time atleast until i get an answer for my SR before I talk to them again.

to prrace:
avi, did you get the card yet? i am still waiting even after 2nd biometrics...its almost 20 days now.
|
to prrace:
No card yet. It's been a month since my 2nd biometrics.
|
I have a family based Green card. They requested 2nd biometrics on the 6th of November 2008. I don;t know when my GC will come. It has already been 1 year and 5 months.
It has been like 25 days since my 2nd biometrics. I don't know what to do ? Should I make infopass appointment ?
Thanks.

Prrace, Avi,
I am in a similar predicament, 485 approved August, still waiting for card, had my second biometrics done last week (after multiple calls to CIS, infopass etc, have 551 stamp as well). After my second biometrics, the online case status changed to "case transferred to another office bcoz it has jurisdiction" This is the same notice that I had before the 485 was approved.
How are you folks dealing with this, my law firm is submitting an AILF enquiry to know further about the issue, I am not sure now if the case was really approved or not. ( I even travelled on I551 and re-entered the country).
pl post updates.
Thanks all

To all, we on all on the same boat! got i-485 and welcome letter on 8/5/08. 2nd biometrics on 11/21/08. In between approval til now, I called USCIS many times and Infopass 2-3 times, not helpful. When I asked the customer services people what time i will receive my card, they answered that they can't tell me. Always told me to wait 30-60 days to call again for Service Requests. They can't seem to connect my biometrics with my profile right away. OMG... i'm just gonna have to call them again next Monday. I think i'm eligible to place another Service Request now.

quick update... (paste from another thread, current)
my status, Case approved Aug 08, second biometrics Dec08, Case status reverts to "case trasnferred"
My company law firm has sent an AILF enquiry (I think this is American Immig Lawyers Found...) and asked me to wait for 30 to 45 days. What I understand is that a specific personal will look at the file and revert back with info such as the case was indeed approved and why the card was talking longer...
While I am okay to an extended wait, it would be terrible to know that the case was approved due to humar error, hopefully, thats not the case here as I re-entered the country with the I551 stamp and my lawyer office has never seen a human error incident.
On murthy law firm site, there is one case wherein 485 was approved in error when the dates were NOT current for the induvidual and the cards etc were later taken away from the candidate by the CIS...
I have been told not to call CIS until the AILF enquiry reverts, thx Dreamer0703 for informing about the LUD system glitch. I cold not verify this as I am explicitly told not to call them...
My spouse did not get her second biometrics (Case approved Aug 08, online info is welcome noitce), when she called, the rep said there is no way to know if a biometrics is attached or existing in a given case account or not.... so it goes on....
Pl post updates as you go.... thanks folks...

I called USCIS again today to inquire about my card status after the 2nd biometrics on 11-21-08. I asked the lady if they are able to connect my biometrics to my profile now and she said they should be connected now. And then I asked her if she can see my card being produced or not. She can't, but told me that I just have to wait 60 days after 11-21-08 and call again. :(

I applied for I485 during July 2007, but didn't apply for EAD at that time. (My priority date is Dec 2006)
I also completed the biometrics the same year Sep 27 2007
I got RFE for some things and response was sent Nov 2008.
Recently I applied for EAD.
Now I received an ASC Appointment letter for biometrics for case I485!
There is no change in the status of I485 on website, still says response for RFE received and case processing is resumed
I didn't understand why I got this 2nd biometrics letter!
Can anybody explain?

I am in the same boat. Approved 1.3 years ago and recived Approval letter and multiple biometrics after that. I went for two of them and with 3rd one offices at biometrics place told me that I am all set and shoud ignore these notices since I am in the system already. I did ignore last one. This is crazy. I do have I)551 in my passport which will expire this month. I have to go for infopass and get new stamp.
Do you guys have any additional info?
Thanks,
Don

Hi, I have recently got the card a month ago. I have made several calls to uscis and spoke to IO using the below sequence. The issue is, IOs could not locate the biometrics even after I have given biometrics 3 times. IO then said, she will place a request to their IT dept to locate biometrics. And in couple of weeks, status changed and got the card.
- Call1-800-375-5283
- Press the following keys: 1-2-1
- Entered my Receipt Number INCLUDING LIN or the numbers 546
- Pressed the following keys: 1-1-3-2-1

to zuzu1481:
What application did you send and to where? If you fill out a profile for your immigration cases readers can post educated answers to your questions.
One thing I can tell you is that if you are waiting for an Employment Authorization Document you will get this and then have to go and apply for a social security number at your local office. This step is down to you.

When did you receive the card ? What action you took to get the card. I'm in the same situation now. Received the approval notice but no card. Any info. Thanks
