Anyone received EAD Card after e-file but WITHOUT fingerprinting / biometric:

I started this thread in I-765 forum but did not get any response.

I e-filed my 765 on October 29th, and received invitation for fingerprinting / biometric, which is scheduled on 21st.

Unfortunately, I am on official tour, and can't go for FP. In the meantime today I received an e-mail from CRIS that the EAD Card production is ordered. I wanted to know if anyone else received EAD card without FP after e-filing. I am aware of the fact that paper filers don't need the FP.

Also, if I get the EAD card, should I communicate with USCIS for rescheduling my FP or not? Or walk in after I return to my home, and go for FP with the assigned ASC.

you can go to the immg support center even before your finger print apt. they will take your finger print. I have done that in the past all the time. even you can go on saturday if they are open around your area

good luck

You should reschedule the appointment. Never ignore requests from USCIS, the FP may be for many different things, for instance for you I-485 as well. You should definitely reschedule the appointment.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to know whether I will get the card without FP or not because I can't make to my ASC. I will go to the local USCIS ASC, and request them to allow the biometric.

yes, you definitely can..
my ead and the wife ead card has no fingerprint in it..

it's another issue maybe if you receive a letter stating you need fp for ead
as the case for some..

I would have gone to the Biometrics appointment if they had asked me to go. However I never received any biometrics notice and got the EAD with the "fingerprints not available" message. It seems to be a common thing. Please post here if I need to be concerned

So far I know that people with paper filing don't get FP, where as all who e-file get fp. I e-filed, and received FP notice. I will go to local office on scheduled day, where I am there on tour to give biometric - provided they allow me. If not, I will go to the office, where I suppose to give biometric, when I return to my home address. In the mean time, I will wait to see that I get the EAD Card.

I did e-file for renewal of EAD. I got no FP appointment. The cards just arrived in the mail with old photos (really old about two years) and old FP from over a year ago.

Thanks africanpilot!

By the way today was my appointment date. I went to a local Application Support Center (ASC) in Chicago area, and they took the FP. They did not even ask whether I have the invitation for their center or some other center (ASC). I know that the system is centralized as I saw that the moment they entered the application receipt number, all related data (name, alien number, dob etc.) popped up on the panel. So, I believe that I am fine, and they will issue the card - as well as I followed their instruction to appear at an ASC, and give FP.

Answering your question, I had my renewed EAD card without fingerprints printed on it last week. I took biometrics last year and its close to renew again soon, but the 2 year renewed EAD card came without it. I already passed the background ckeck long time ago, so i dont see it as an issue.

Thanks everyone! Today I received e-mail from CRIS stating EAD approval notice mailed (we all know that this notice contains the EAD card tucked-in in the notice page). And yesterday I gave my FP on the invitation day on an ASC different than the one on which I suppose to go. I don't think anything remains pending with regards to EAD.

Hope that they issued the EAD for two years.
